"Know what to do."
The damn challenges came out less than 24 hours ago and I'm already seeing lfg posts about deathsinger and Crota challenge modes with "know what to do".
How about you lazy schmucks TEACH them "what to do" since you're such experts having done it only a few times yourselves the very first day.
God people are idiots.

# 2 I don't need to start my own group because I'm not talking about It for myself. I'm saying the posts are ridiculous in general, not because I want / need to do it. I'm a year one player who has played consistently through the present and have friends I raid with.
# 3 People shouldn't have to watch a video for changes that JUST came out. If someone can't take a minute to explain it, they're idiots not worth playing with anyway.
# 4 A friend and I did a nightfall a while back with a random 15 below the required light level because our other friends weren't on. We gave him a shot and while his damage output was bad he was great with revives and popping bubble when things got rough. He ended up becoming a good friend who's now 400 and we play with regularly. I know it's not the same as raids but it doesn't hurt to give people a chance. They can end up becoming friends and becoming a good part of your team in the future.

Even with the multitude of videos that will be posted on YouTube, there's a major difference between just knowing, and actually doing. I've not Raided much at all, but outside of one or two occasions I've had pretty helpful people TEACH and be tolerant of my learning. This community would be better off if it held the Sherpa mindset in this regard.

The challenges so far are sooo easy compared to old atheon hard mode. The whole crota's end is way easier than its old version, wayyy easier

umm.. knowing what to do has been basically available since year 1 so to say that people are idiots for asking for people to know what to do and referencing 24 hours that the raid has been out, is shortsighted to say the least. sure the strat is marginally different for crota and requires a second sword carrier.. but, its basically the normal strategy that was used prior to the middle ledge being found.. for many, this was how the raid was done.. over 2 years ago.

I feel like if you're going to lfg you should at least watch a couple of videos to have a feel for the fights. I think most people take know what to do as if you need to be perfect at it. People just want to know that you have knowledge of what's going on and then the team can adapt to people struggling. You do of course have those who rage at every little thing, just leave and block them. It's also important to know your strengths and to be honest. For example, I'm rusty with sword, I rarely did it and it was a long time ago. I simply tell people I know what I'm doing, I don't die, and I can help other ways. Like using Nighthawk to kill the Oversoul right away. I've been using lfg since Y1 and being honest is the best approach. Another thing, if you're too lazy to look up guides on the Raid why should someone else carry you? It takes a little of your time to be prepared and more times than not teams are pretty patient.

That usually is an indicator that you explained what needed to be done horribly. I have been a part of these groups where the supposed "sherpa" didn't explain what was going on well or did it in such a hurried fashion that no one really understood them. I have ran through VoG and CE, explained thing elaborately with each part to new comers, and AT MOST it took 3 tries to get it right (only times it took more was generally due to connection based issues).

people can make whatever group conditions they want, I'm pretty easy going but have you ever started aksis and someone jumps in and says they dont know what to do, it can take hours, some people dont have that kinda time and you need to understand that point of view too, if people want to get in and do it quickly because they can only play an hour or two every day thats their choice, i know what your saying but you need to see the other perspective too, people can always start or join a group that says guide needed casual newbies welcome, thats why we have that option ✌

IMO I always found the how to videos helpful to watch before hand so that if you LFG a raid you aren't the annoying guy asking all the questions and not knowing anything at all. Trust me that gets old fast. So I think people who watch the videos are just educating themselves and helping others by helping themselves. Research is always good. On that note some people are terrible at explaining mechanics of encounters.

18 RepliesBecause not everyone has time to sit there and explain everything. It's already hard enough finding a team that is actually capable of doing it. If you want to play with people who know how to, then watch a video so you'll know how to. The issue is you expecting people to spend their time teaching you when you could have looked it up just like they did. And this is coming from someone who's actually done sherpas. I've already taken a few people through the 390. I was fine with them not knowing it, because I was there to help them. If I'm doing a raid to actually get it done, I expect people to know what they're doing.

I'm not surprised at the lfg requirements anymore. I remember back when people wanted fireteam members to be level 34 just to run normal VOG. level 34, lmao. They'd accept a level 34 rookie with no experience but accept kick a level 30 who could run the relic. Lfg is a joke most of the time
