Why is this even being downvoted ???
I swear on everything the majority of this community is straight delusional.
Sidearms are still going to be the most used secondary, with Icebreaker behind them.
Unless they let other special weapons retain ATLEAST a shot or two, this will literally solve nothing.
Meanwhile, the delusional side of the community is screaming, "just use a primary !" because they don't fully understand the situation as a whole.
I REALLY hope this isn't the meta we're stuck in until the sequel. However, there's pretty high chances that it's gonna remain this way because we all know bungie takes atleast 6-8 months to change the sandbox.

for regular crucible, it's fine. trials does need a tweak for special ammo though, it's either nlb, ice breaker, and sidearm.

I don't think it works well with any game variant but that's just me.

Edited by iDovahBear: 3/22/2017 1:47:46 AMThe Special changes definitely suck on cramped maps in general. There's not enough ammo to go around. I have noticed, however, that on bigger maps the gameplay was really solid. That was largely in part to the fact that Sidearms couldn't dominate most of the map. Everywhere else, they can and they do. The problem is the only mode positively impacted were Big Team games with Vehicles or any playlist using maps of that relative size and spawn locations or what have you. Anything smaller than Skyshock is probably campy with a slice of ammo shortages and... Yeah I just don't play much anymore post-patch. We all thought it would be great to be rid of Shotguns, but removing them just made us realize how truly terrible of a position everything else was in. And people think we need more NERFS? This game needed a buff months ago, a genuine one. We won't be getting it, unless it's in the form of Destiny 2, which Bungie can go and piss off their ivory tower if they think I'm shucking another sixty bones just to relive the Destiny Beta all over again except with even more cancerous whining posts... I'll pass.

Haha same here. It's honestly pure laziness of the sandbox team to balance this way. Bad enough when they blanket nerfed/buffed entire weapon archetypes without considering every weapon performs differently but to blanket nerf all of secondary ammo was the last straw for me. In reality it would of took considerable thought, internal testing, and frequent updates to apply specific balance adjustments where needed to get closer to a balanced meta and moderate weapon diversity across primaries and secondaries. But Destiny is not feeling that nor do they see $ benefit of doing such a thing. Like many other blockbuster game franchises their main focus is on your next purchase. Or there bad at game balance and the bosses who oversee this don't care.
