What kind of "balance" are you looking for? That's the most over used term around here. How exactly do you balance a loot based shooter?

Edited by B0omShanka: 3/1/2017 11:40:05 AMTake the last meta. Cut shotgun range so it's an extension of your melee like they said it should be. Buff autos ( except bullet hoses) keep the changes to juggy. Slightly nerf the duration of storm trance, cut the range of thunderstrike. Get rid of bloom on hand cannons and cut their effective range. BALANCE !!!! Oh yeah and keep what they've done to clever dragon.
-
That's a joke. Why would you think these ticky tack changes, designed to benefit you, are going to make the game more balanced?
-
Designed to benefit me!!!! It's what the whole community has been crying out for. They wanted more primary gun play not people abusing another secondary. But if your happy carry on.
-
Of course. That's why much of the drivel on this site is just that. Players crying for "balance" are really vying for an "advantage". That's a big reason why I oppose nerfs of any kind and don't like it when Bungie listens to the wrong people on this site. So, when you tell me that you want Stormcaller nerfed, it's because you don't use that class and you are annoyed at getting killed by one. That's not balance.
-
Mate I use every class, every body does and your kidding yourself if you think stormcaller hasn't got an advantage in the super department, lasts longer than other roaming supers and is extremely mobile thanks to the blink perk. Great for pve bad for pvp. As for nerfs nobody likes them but without them we'd all be running round with the vex 3 banging people at any range.
-
Nah. Stormcaller should have a great super and melee, since its grenades are terrible. No, people want nerfs on things that annoy them. They want an easier time in the Crucible and blame the gear/abilities for their problems. I don't subscribe to that. Heck, if I thought that way I would want every super nerfed, because getting killed by them is the most annoying thing in the game for me. lol. I had a match a few weeks ago where I was literally killed 5 times in a row by various supers. Did I demand nerfs for Striker and Nightstalker? Nope. That's just part of the game.
-
you make a bunch of weapons for pvp and don't let people use pve weapons... tu-duh balance.
-
LMAO!!! There are already games that do this......CALL OF DUTY. You know, the game that most gamers hate! Why would you want to turn Destiny into that?
-
... not exactly a looter shooter... you would still have classes and abilities but you could design perks and weapons for pvp only so you can balance those there and maybe even farm them there.
-
Yeah, you could, but I seriously doubt players would be as excited to grind for loot if they can only use it in PvE.
-
wellp then maybe they need to you know... separate the 2 like hundreds of people have asked already...
-
Edited by blade329: 3/1/2017 11:55:06 PMI say NO. For that to work, Destiny would have to be completely different. Not going to happen when Destiny 2 is on the way.
-
Most obvious way would be to make certain weapon archetypes able to compete with other archetype in their given range.
-
It's a slippery slope. If all weapons are competitive in PvP, then you run the risk of making them all the same. Who's going to want to grind for gear when it's all the same?
-
Edited by tbanga69: 3/1/2017 11:54:27 PMWell they all have different uses, some are better are long range, mid range ect.. so people would still try to grind for the best weapon of that archetype they want. Anyway its not like the palindrome or wormwood is hard to get, so they're not making people grind with this meta anyway
-
Edited by PopsAutismo: 3/1/2017 12:37:42 AMYou don't. #RemovePvP Seriously, though. If they would separate PvE and PvP changes, that would be a great first step.
-
The loot isn't the problem it's the multitude of classes that are all being greyed out and put into the same pit. Handcannons are meant to be good close range guns but suffer from bloom and a lack of aim assist even at the closest of ranges. Shotguns have been nerfed to the ground and sidearms are the best solution.
-
Are you for real? The Palindrome and the Luna are two of the top 5 weapons in this meta.
-
Huh?? Hand Cannons are in a great spot right now and their usage is way up. So, I don't agree with you on that. If anything, Bungie IS balancing things......in the wrong direction. Everything is getting equally weakened and watered down.
-
Hand cannons have been on top for 2 years without breaks. Nothing has changed in any meta since TDB.
