Some of those youtubers have 1M+ subscribers and given the ongoing decline of the player base those 1M subscribers represent an increasing percentage of that base.
I'm not sure you can fault Bung for listening to them but you can definitely blame Bung for the latest patch fiasco.

Actually I'm incorrect, DPJ and Mr Fruit have 925k+ but I'm not able to find one with over 1M right now.
