The Destiny base game is required to play out of trial mode. If you attempt to play expansion content only, without the base game, the trial mode will load.
What version of the game did you purchase?
If you have a disc, is it in your console?
If you have a digital base game, have you tried restoring licenses:

I bought Rise of Iron in December and a had the full version before, and its started doing this in January.

[quote]Yes I tried it and it didn't work[/quote] If you are in the purchasing account and the license restoration doesn't resolve, the next thing to try would be a cache clear: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12539 Failing that, a full uninstall of the game, followed by a license restoration, would be the next step. If that still doesn't do the trick, you would need to contact you console manufacturer (as the owner of the licensing system) to discuss the issue with your base game license.
