Custom clan emblems; how it could work without ruining all other emblems.
Once a clan has reached a certain member count or milestone in a record book like progress tracker, provide Clan founders access to an emblem editor in the Admin Tools tab that would function similar to Call of Duty or For Honor's emblem creator and allow clans to create their own emblems, and as the Clan continues to grow, give them access to different backgrounds and customization options such as diffrent banner colors and overlays.
Once an emblem has been created, require founders to submit it to Bungie Officials for approval so that way no Code of Conduct violations happen (similar to how Community Creations work.) Approved emblems cannot be changed or edited and must be removed before any changes can be made.
Make it equipable through the in game Roster tab, just above the Clanmate Roster. The image/image preview of the clan's emblem would be displayed by hovering the cursor over the emblem, and next to the display emblem there would be "Equip Clan Emblem" or "Unequip Clan emblem." boxes to check.
Of course this would mean all who are not Clanmate would not have access to this emblem, but this issue could be easily resolved by not limiting the Clan to 100 Clanmates. (Hint, hint.)
What do you guys think? Would this be a fresh change, and give the many clans of Destiny their own custom banner to rally under? Or would this lend itself to too many abuses?

[spoiler]How about an overhaul of clans?
Clans have levels that everyone in the clan contributes to and at current levels you unlock things - like emblem editing.
Setting a "[i]x[/i] amount of players" is an easy task to accomplish and if you lose players, you shit out of luck.
Adding in a level system would increase the exclusivity of a custom emblem to the clans that actually put time into the game.
Other levels could also unlock custom shaders, emblem decal on armor/weapons, and other neat customizable things to show off your clan.[/spoiler]
Globalsnow5 suggested that perhaps instead of a member count requirement have an hours played?

Free suggested that clans should work together for their emblems and such instead of making it limited to a member count. This way it encourages the group to work together to form their clan's identity.

The idea is great but think it would be a nice touch to have members of your clan possibly unlock tools and more options through clan activity. 6 members from your clan doing a raid would grant you something. 50 clan fireteam wins would grant you something and so on.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Just thought of this idea: you could have Bungie create a ton of pre-made emblems, and as a clan meets the requirements for obtaining a custom clan emblem, the clan leaders get to choose from the available pre-approved emblems[/spoiler]

Sounds like an interesting idea, but I would like if even a small group of friends (I play with two friends in a three-man clan and have since launch) could still create a custom clan emblem.

Love the idea, a couple of comments though: [b]1. Don't Punish Small Clans: [/b]I started Zone B in Y1 with me and my friends who were so into destiny. Now I am all that's left. I loved being a part of Zone B, and I'd never leave it. And those new members I invite are few and far between. Putting a "player min" on an emblem maker would be punishing the smaller, casual clans of friends who just want to have fun, and just giving the professional players just one more thing to lord over their heads. [b]2. Who Would use this?[/b] Me. I would. I would have used it day one to create my ORIGINAL bungie emblem: Valkyrie in the Gear. It was emblem from H3 onward, and I even used my emblem creater in CoD and Battlefield to build variants in those games. BUT I agree that it would be a lot of work for bungie if EVERYONE tried to design their own, so a clan based system makes sense.

1 ReplyJust charge money for all the individual tools, backdrops, palettes, layers etc.. If ppl abuse it, ban them. This way all clans, even the smallest, will be paying in. Could even have purchasable components unlock as you achieve stuff on the game. Could do it with armour too, the possibilities are endless.

1 ReplyReally cannot get behind this. Pretty much every Clan I have ever ran into has no interest in growing to a hundred people. Allowing people to create their own design in general would be really cool. People used to be able to do that in Black Ops with a designer tool. If Bungie did something similar I would imagine it would be like that as they don't want to waste their time manually approving each new emblem

5 Replies..or...or how about this. Get this. What if any clan could have custom emblems, but they cost a small amount of money ($15-$20) and they need to be approved before use? The fee pays for the work hours of the approval staff, and the clan members can use whatever digital software they want to design their emblem.

11 RepliesI honestly don't think that custom emblems are a good idea. Most emblems are meant to show your triumphs or achievements as a guardian and this feature would stop that. I could get behind a custom shader feature but i think that a clan should really only have a players to play with benefit as many people just run solo. However its a well-thought out concept.

1 ReplyAlthough this idea would be neat, you failed to see the biggest flaw of all that. doing so would create 1-3 jobs at bungie just to do the process of submiting or denying the emblems. Where this game is rated lower than M they have to really go through the emblems with a fine tooth comb and make sure there is absolutley nothing that effects that rating. Too much work to asign to someone already there, and I doubt they would hire someone else for something that would be free, maybe if it was paid emblems ($19.99 and you can have a clan emblem, people will take my puny clan super seriously now, yay!)

If it was by members, no halfway decent clan would have custom emblems. No way theres 100 good players that would get in one clan, I can rarely find 10 lol!

4 RepliesAs a member of a clan that has no interest in growing to any number 10+, let alone 100+, I disagree. Letting big clans have special treatment that we can't attain, even though we would love it because we are very tight-knit, would be a slap in the face to us and the people we would inevitably use as pawns in the game of getting 3 of us an emblem of the astronomical symbol for Pluto. Something accessible to everyone, even if it was difficult or time consuming if one had less people, would be ideal (for us members of Fireteaam Pluto.)
