Current State of the Crucible and why I am bored senseless

Well hello all! Hopefully some of you did well this past week in the crucible, and some of you have had to use that pesky weapon that was just above the special weapon, Crucible must feel so weird for you lot! (Unless you're using your sidearm as a primary, shame on you) So I have played Destiny since Jan/Feb in 2015. I started off never touching the crucible and was a PVE player. However as time has gone on, I have gravitated towards the crucible, and now rarely ever touch PVE unless I am forced to by a friend wanting to get icebreaker. I have seen a few different metas come and go, all with their pros and cons, but I have always enjoyed playing pvp (apart from when the lag is unbearable). However this is the first time I can truly say, that after 1 week of this patch, I have never been so bored in the crucible. There have been so many posts about how Bungie can fix the special ammo economy, and yes I have my own ideas, are they good ideas, well that is left to be seen. Unfortunately I feel that this time around, instead of the player base looking for a meta, we have been bottle necked into a meta, the sidearm meta. It has been AMAZING using my primary, I've always put an emphasis on using my primary, I thoroughly enjoyed the Hawksaw meta of TTK, and now the primary meta of ROI is honestly the most balanced I think I've ever seen primaries in the crucible. And for that, Bungie, I thank you. You really pulled it out the bag with that. But as always, there are nerfs done that confuse the player base, and bring up issues. Let me say this now, I am a shotgunner, always have been, always will be. Its the special weapon I enjoy using the most. And no matter what meta we are in, I will always use it, and learn to use it to its best abilities. Now with that being said, let me explain why I am so bored. Destiny is very unique, and special weapons are fun. Incredibly fun. Getting that quick scope with a sniper, melting someone with a sidearm as they rush you, that surprised feeling that you get when you cross map someone with a fusion rifle, and seeing the whites of their eyes just as you pull the trigger on your shotgun. They are fun, and everyone agrees on that. However as we all know, those instances are happening far less. And not for lack of trying, we literally just don't have any ammo to try doing these things. Except people running sidearms, they have all the ammo and more! We have literally swapped shotguns for sidearms, which are super accurate from the air, can contest at a range further than I expected, and have a very good time to kill. And it's bland, very bland. I play more than most people, 6 or more hours a day usually, and now, it's a struggle to get passed 1-2 hours before the boredom kicks in. So how would I change some of these weapons and the special ammo? Here's how: -Special spawns every 90 seconds instead of 60 -Lose reserve ammo, and keep what you have in the mag That seems pretty simple! We don't get overly punished for dying, which makes for a slower game as people hide away as they don't want to lose their precious special ammo! And when you do lose a gun fight, you can just run your special as a primary due to mass amounts left in reserve. I believe that the Overwatch Devs said this "we made it so you never run out of ammo, because having to look for ammo isn't fun and takes you out the game" they could not be more right! But to make all weapon a little more fair and useable, a few changes to weapons so they are more useable. -Bring back shotgun in air accuracy, as it's now RNG, and we've all complained about having RNG on weapons. Rushing is incredibly more difficult now, so this would seem fair. -Reduce the flinch a bit more on snipers, the will help them be a bit more viable opposed to NLB -Truth, increase mag size to 2. By making these very small changes, it's my idea that the crucible will be in a perfect state. It will make all specials more viable and bring back the variety and fun back! Bungie were SO GOOD with their follow up response to the accidental nerf caused by the Hungering Blade nerf, and we should congratulate them for that, it's all we've asked for from them. Communication. I'd love to know what you guys think, what other changes, if any, would you like to see? I honestly believe Bungie will implement a few changes to this new meta if we ask them to. We are so close to, what I consider, a perfect meta, that we can almost smell it! We all love this game, and want the best for it, so let's hope for a few simple changes! See you in the crucible, primary in hand!

Specials don't need to be more viable. They function as they're supposed to. The special ammo nerf is just too confusing for the "my special is my primary" folks. Special weapons are aptly named as they're used for special circumstances. Shotties and sidearms are for CQC, fusions have a foot in both CQC and ranged engagements. Snipers still turn domes into Swiss cheese. The only thing that has changed is that y'all can't run around with them as your primary, except sidearms(you'll be punished soon enough, most likely, thank your fellow pvpons). All the bandwagons shifting over to sidearms and regen weapon are doing nothing more than fueling Bungie's NerfTrain. The next round of nerfs will be bringing sidearms and regen weapons down a peg, most likely. What you should be saying is that Bungie needs to buff primary weapons and then thank them for correcting the special ammo error which should've been done in Vanilla. They're trying to fix this special ammo dependent culture they created and have let live for the last three years. From the beginning we should've never had so much special ammo. We shouldn't start with any special and we should only get one box which should spawn randomly and in a random location for the entire match. It should give standard weapons two full mags and sidearms get 25-30 rounds. You die, you lose a round. This game has been far to free with special and it has caused a lot of problems. Bungie is trying to fix that. They TRIED to fix it once but those TrialsBabies just couldn't do it without special ammo, thank them for where we are at now.
