It was a great weapon in Year 1. It was a great counter for Thorn until the big nerf to pulse rifles came. I haven't used it since as it was not an "Exotic" anymore. I guess we can say that it was literally nerfed to the ground.

Actually, Red death was never a High Impact (30 Impact) Pulse Rifle. It was always a Nirwens Mercy, NTTE and Allfate archetype of Pulse (14 Impact). The Impact on Red Death in Year One was a mere visual error on the stat bar and was corrected in pre-TTK update at the beginning of Year Two. The patch notes are still there, I just can't link it to you as I am using the app on android. The incorrect Impact had no in-game affects. Back in Y1, following the Pulse Rifle buff, 14 Impact Pulse Rifles were also capable of two-burst headshots. A 2.5% damage nerf to 14 Impact Pulse Rifles in the same update brought it below the reliable two-burst threshold, followed by an 8% damage nerf in the SRL 2015 Update. Hopscotch Pilgrim however was an archetype change. The reasoning was that it was too stable for that kind of archetype. Highest Impact Pulses are usually very jumpy. You know its bad when Counterbalance was considered a waste of a perk for it, literally.
