PvP is the $ of this game.
Yes yes yes we've seen all the kids quote destiny tracker stats showing 75% play PvE and 25% PvP but it's about $$$$.
How many PvE streamers are there? Slot when a new expansion comes because a new raid after a month it's old boring and useless.
PvP streaming is huge. Streaming is free, FREE, advertising for Bungie. Bungie supports said streamers.
PvE can't ever be as fruitful as PvP. Too keep PvE fruitful costs bungie tons of man hours and expansions. PvP could have no changes and remain playable

Sure it's free advertising. But advertising for what? They can't reasonably expect to have any substantial sales this close to d2, and the "hype" from streamers playing trials every weekend doesn't really translate to d2 without any details about the game itself. I'm just having trouble understanding what's so worth advertising, that they can neglect a large portion of their remaining playerbase.

Really? Most of us didn't spend $70 on the last two expansions for 11 maps and two new modes which are the most vilified modes in the game (Rift and Supremacy) Absolute bollocks statement.

I think you misunderstood. To try and simplify it for you; without PvP this game wouldn't be still "viable" today. If PvP didn't exist, this game would have had no hype, advertising.
