Rasputin saved humanity not the traveler

Im sure that at first this seems to be going out on a limb, but here me out. The "darkness" is, in this sense, the deep, which is the hive. The "light" is the sky. The original fight between the deep and sky was on the world known as the fundament. The hive worked for the ahamkara, who were agents of the deep. The sky god, whom we can assume is the traveler, was going to cause the syzygy which was essentially a giant title wave created to destroy a large portion of life on the fundament. In an effort to stop this the deep defended itself by launching a counter attack on the sky. Im not entirely sure why the deep wanted to keep life on the fundament but i think it has to with the sky destroying the deeps power and then the deep itself. After wounding the traveler, it fled and the deep continued attacking and concurring like their worms required them to do. The traveler would go to race after race empowering them and then trying to use them to stop the deep. However this did not work, so it would abandon that race and look for its next victim. When it finally got to earth, it created the golden age, and when the deep caught up, that started the collapse. Rasputin, the war mind, realized that the traveler would abandon us. Rasputin attacked the traveler, wounding it, meaning it couldn't flee and would then be forced to help humanity win, instead of ditching us. And then came the ghost and the guardian. Thats my theory, just figured some people might find it interesting, i know a lot of stuff wasn't detailed (just trying to be as precise and to the point as possible). Theres a lot of background information and details that i didn't provide. The information that is related to this and is the reason i developed this theory, is from the youtube channel myelin games. The specific videos are the book of sorrows playlist and the video about Rasputin. Let me know what you think of this theory.

  • You've got a whole ton of things wrong there buddy. The Syzygy was always inevitable, it was suppose to be caused by the alignment of all of Fundaments moons which would in turn create a tidal wave massive enough to wipe out life on the planet. So as the early hive looked for ways to survive the three sisters (you know them) went searching in the deep) they came across the leviathan who tried to talk them out from trying to reach the worm gods. The traveller had long left the planet by the time all of this happened because it and the leviathan were known to lock down the worm gods deep within the planets core. As far as rasputin goes, he was built to protect humanity however every action it took had a 100% fail rate. Once he realized this he changed his protocols to long term survival and went into a hibernation. Before he did so he initally had a plan on crippling the traveller if it ever chose to abandon humanity. However nobody knows for sure Wether he actually fired at the traveller or Wether it chose to stay on its own. All in all its pretty obvious that Rasputin isn't a simple warmind. He's trying to protect himself more than anyone else at the end of the day.
