Because its easier and cheaper to nerf guns than make actual content.

Edited by grrrund: 2/20/2017 2:38:12 PMThey wouldn't have had to release SHIT if they had just made a non-narrative driven shared world shooter. I have written long ass posts about how this game could be different, let's just say that when the Loot Cave was a problem, it was ACTUALLY a -blam!-ing asset and divine inspiration, but whoever had the wheel never read Gates Of Fire by Steven Pressfield, and had no idea that what needed to happen was that the 10 kilometers surrounding the Last City should have been turned into siege grounds or "one huge untamed loot cave hurricane". One endless battle against an endless foe. Strikes would range out just a little further than 10km for the purpose of high priority targets and supply chain disruptions. Orbital blockade preventing inter-planetary travel until Bungie's development team was ready. On and on and on and ... know what I'm saying? I'm taking storyboard classes, Bungie. I will be ready sooner than later.

Out of all this crap I would have to agree with this

....can't really make new content when you have such a small team at the moment but everyone ignores that point.
-
They failed to make adequate content full stop, especially pve wise. Year 1 was ok then they couldn't keep up and it lead to the microtransaction events.
-
They didn't because they couldn't. Can't expect lengthy or large content drops when you don't have the manpower to provide it. I'm just surprised people are still jumping on this same topic, as though it even has any weight behind it.

When TTK didnt deliver in January and Feb, we knew that Activision had obviously cut their expenses because of the lack of DLC. The April update gave us a strike that was phogoth mixed with the shrine of Oryx, using war priest mechanics and a simple boss that wouldn't have taken them long at all. The moment they started cheaping out on us with the drought of content, was the moment people started walking away.

You can't honestly expect a game like Destiny to have sizeable content updates on a regular schedule at the same time that the dev-studio has a limited staff size available to make said updates? Most games that do have a playerbase like this also have a massive amount of staff to produce the required content, and sometimes even they don't do so.

I agree, whether it's incompetence or a lack of funds i don't know. Activision have brought in other developers to help out due to obvious failings.
