Why I'm back to Gunslinger

As a late year one player, I began my journey into Destiny as A gunslinger. The idea of shooting it out or west style and having a trusty blade on your hip to back up your peacekeeper was just so cool. As I progressed through the game I found the golden gun to be so reliable that I just couldn't see the need for being so up close and personal with the blade dancer. For my entirety of year one, just after HoW, I was devoted. After year two dropped I began my journey with the Titan because well, I got bored. Nightstalker didn't appeal to me and I had played around with all classes but my hunter still was my main but back to my Titan. The hammers were by far the coolest thing I had seen yet and I never looked back. The Titan was my crack. I played all of year two mostly as hammer bro and just loved the intensity of the playstyle it allowed. I became the most hated type in Destiny, the shotgun rusher. Before with my hunter I tried to hone my skills as a sniper and yes dabbled with my Matador but the LDR was just so good. As the game went on and I became more involved with more the PvE side and I would never say I'm a badass PvP player, I found that I had to figure out all the subclasses and Max them out because of one word, drought. So now as we are deep into year three and on the heels of a fresh sandbox update I find myself once again looking back to the subclass that started my love for the game. I've never really taken destiny out of my console except for the occasional CoD drop but that wears out quickly and it's back to my weekly routine of NF's, raids, Shaxx bounties and strike farming. I just recently watched an interview with Planet Destiny and they were interviewing Cool guy. He talked in depth about the new playstyle in PvP after regens were nerfed into the ground and I thought, What the hell, let's see what he's talking about. I loaded up, got into control and immediately saw what he was talking about..... The gunslinger is back and back with a vengeance. My first outing was with fever and remedy, trespasser and my trusty nightmare rocket launcher. And for the first time I hit a breaker not once, but twice in one match. And people can say what they want but I've never done that so ya, big deal for me. If anyone is wanting to try out the new meta as it is with a decent, well balanced subclass, I recommend the gunslinger. With trance, chain of woe, reactive reload (F&R perk) you can absolutely destroy people in the crucible. I felt less outgunned in 1v1's for the first time in awhile and the mobility offered with the gun perks and subclass setup is so fun. Thanks CoolGuy. Highly recommend everyone go to Planet Destiny's YouTube channel and look up the vid. Link is shared on top. Never shared one here before so hopefully I don't get into trouble. Thanks

  • I started as a gunslinger went to blade for pvp then warlock when those were nerfed. Might have go make my way back as a nightstalker for 3s

  • Gunslinger has always been good. Even when throwing knives and tripmines were nerfed it still was good. It may have taken a bit more skill to use and I think that was what scared off the majority of players. If it isn't quick and easy people avoid it. I've been a gunslinger since my first day. I do use bladedancer or nightstalker some in PvP but the vast amount of time it has been dealing out solar damage. I won't get into the PvE aspect of gunslinger but will say it's better than it used to be.

  • I won a rumble match by getting almost all my kills with throwing knives. Definetly one of my better games. I literally use gunslinger for the throwing knives (still kinda disappointed that bungo nerfed them though). I have a sick feeling in my stomach that Gunslinger will catch a nerf and I'm scared

  • Ive been a gunslinger since day 1 and have actively competed in PvP since. Yeah it lost sticky trip mines but as someone with a 2.4 KD. It has not gone anywhere. It's just nowadays when people think of the average Hunter they think Skip nade spamming blade dancers or combo/evade spamming nightstalkers. Don't run into gunslingers much in trials.
