u guys r daff who r complaining about the bloom its realistic u cant shoot a real sniper in succession with out accuracy dropping and same with all other weapons they wanted all weapons to feel more real and since it takes longer to do the double shot its actually better for the real snipers who go for the headshots, they made the head shots easier so it equals out
-
honestly I never use snipers im more a mid to close range guy favoring to let the covie basterds know who cracked their skull open and let them see the number on my boot! HU-RAH!
Posted by: SpAmMer Fun fact: The reticule bloom on the sniper was cosmetic. I thought the Reach sniper was a lot easier to use than the Halo 3 sniper actually. Noscoping felt a lot easier, and I had an easier time getting headshots with it.
This. REACH Sniper did feel much better than H3, there were times where I was using it like the shotgun.

Something to help you decide OP. http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=44894855
Posted by: DizRupT All Bungie did was make the gun les effective outside it's intended range. Close range is not a Snipers intended range, but I'm sure your one of the types that want 'skill' weapons effective at all ranges.
No, I'm the type of person who wants to be in control of the gun, not the gun in control of me. If I'm good enough to no scope a sword guy than I deserve the kill. There was no reason to try to make it ineffective at close range. No one ever complained about the sniper rifle being "over powered". In fact, most people enjoy getting no scopes.
Posted by: willthesnork who cares sniper sucks spikers yaaaa yo
Introducing Ghetto Hylebos. And not much has changed, besides bloom, so it's hard to compare.
Posted by: DynastyOfShinho Halo 3 sniper. Both take to body shot to kill and 1 head shot to kill. But Halo 3 doesn't have bloom which makes it better. Snipers are supposed to be pin point accurate but bloom is ridiculous. I don't mind the animation expanding but what I mind is that the bullet can go anywhere within the circle. The expandingness makes it hard enough to aim so if I center the head perfectly I desearve a headshot!!!!
Fun fact: The reticule bloom on the sniper was cosmetic.
Posted by: PersonifiedHell
Posted by: Hot Top Fade
Posted by: PersonifiedHell Halo 3 sniper was way better. At least I didn't have to put up with frustrating and confusing visual bloom everytime I picked it up off the ground, switched to it, or fired a shot. It completely throws off your aim, and they nerfed it by slowing the rate of fire.
It was nerfed from Halo 2 to halo 3. We will all get used to it.
By nerfed, you mean you can't sweep snipe anymore and they slighty slowed the rate of fire yes. Other than that Bungie even stated it was harder to use, and it was. In fact it was one of the only weapons that took skill in Halo 3. Then they ruined it by adding bloom. I guess all the AR rush noobs complained about getting no scoped
All Bungie did was make the gun les effective outside it's intended range. I thought the Reach sniper was easier to use, maybe its just the lack of bullet travel time
-
It is a fact that the Halo 3 sniper is better then the Halo Reach Sniper. Even though they do the same damage, the reset time on shots has been changed. Bungie stated that they increased the time in between shots by .25 or .5 of a second. So the Halo 3 sniper is better.

Reach sniper all the way. It just feels better.
-
How about the swipe snipe of Halo 2. It was so easy to use. What a joke it was.
-
Halo 3's sniper was glitchy as hell with shot detection and snipers should never be anything but hitscan. Plus the new sniper will have night vision like Halo 1. Reach Sniper is waaaayyy better than the Halo 3 Sniper ...now the Halo Two Sniper....
-
I'll Reach for the Reach sniper on this one.
-
I couldn't tell you which one is better but I can tell you that the reach sniper looks uber schmexy. [Edited on 06.10.2010 7:30 PM PDT]
-
But in Reach you have the stall between shots so you can't do quick two shots [Edited on 06.10.2010 7:30 PM PDT]
-
Both deal the same damage. Both do a one-hit-kill when you shoot someone in the head. Both require 2 shots to kill someone anywhere else on their body.
