Marathon music in Halo: Reach

We remember the tune in this clip from Halo 2, but only now I realised that the piece is ancient, going way back to Marathon 1.

This isn't the only similarity that between Halo and Marathon. You might notice how in Marathon, there was the UESC(United Earth Space Council) and Halo has the UNSC(United Nations Space Command). Seems pretty damn similar to me. [Edited on 06.20.2010 3:01 PM PDT]

I've always wondered if Marty took anything from Marathon and put it into Halo's soundtrack. I should probably check out Myth's soundtrack, too, to see if there's any resemblance amongst the three series. Although, I will say that both the Marathon and Halo themes are highly iconic and quite "signature" to both trilogies. Hopefully there will be more if any Marathon references in Halo: Reach. There was a lot of them in Halo: CE, so there should be tons in Reach, right? :) Same goes for the music. [Edited on 06.20.2010 12:28 PM PDT]

My first thought with that music from the Reach was Marathon, I now know why. I've been playing Aleph One M1 recently, and that track sounds quite different to the original I posted.
