Evening all,
A quick question for my fellow peers here, about LoW as it pertains to PvP/Crucible: At the risk of sounding like an ill-informed scrublet, (I am recently returning) how is it that I've encountered a numerous amount of players, who out perform me with LoW against my questline CT-D and my (not God roll, but solid) PC + 1? The range on it is atrocious, and thus I'm not sure how I get rolled at the same distance. Although I have the wep. myself, I've been told over and over that it's more of a "fun," novelty-type item. If it's indeed a solid, competitive choice, I will knock the dust off of it and start trashing peeps, ha...
Once again, 'am I missing something here LOL?!
Thanks all,
-Cheers

Range stat is totally misleading. It has fantastic range. Might be loosing encounters because LOW fires in bursts which would result in way more flinch.
-
It's pretty good, and it has a lot of ammo
-
Its very effective and pretty consistent compared to most shotties, also the range isn't as bad as people think either
-cheers
Who says cheers anymore?

This was sent to me by a jug Titan running matador. I think LoW is one of the best shotguns and if you can learn to use the range correctly you are almost unbeatable.
-
Its another weapon that a good portion of players never touch in Crucible cause some streamer or talking head said it was week or underpowered. Most players are sheep and dont even try other weapons for themselves. LoW is the shit in Supremacy. I keep saying that we have good weapons already. Just need to play around with them. Find what they excel at. Stop drinking the kool aid and just use them! Not you in general OP.
-
I keep meaning to try it with nightstalkers courage of the pack perk. Someone try that out for me.
-
I find the LOW to be rather shallow and pedantic
-
It's actually quite amazing and ammo efficient. It just takes some getting used to the 5 shot pulse aspect, but once you do you'll be crazy good.
-
It has no damage falloff, until it falls all the way off.
-
Yeah, LoW actually has one of the highest effective ranges...
-
Why don't you just try it? Is it really that hard to actually use alternatives? Sheep. The lot of you probably would break the disc if youtubers told you to

I've found the range stat to be misleading....definitely further than what the numbers show. I imagine the pulse like burst at max distance connects better than the Party Crasher & Conspiracy Theory. ..true to shotguns, the further the target, the wider the spread of the buckshot....lessening it's damage unless you have perks that help it....but they did away with Shot Package

Just spell the weapons im not a mind reader. Don't be lazy

Edited by Forum Vethi: 2/2/2017 6:38:39 PMLord of Wolves is broken. In a good way if you're using it. It doesn't behave like a normal shotty, as it seems to pretty much have infinite range up until 15(or so) feet when damage instantly falls off compared to over distance.
-
It's an excellent weapon. You have to bear in mind its stats lie for a shotgun, mainly because it isn't a shotgun. I saw someone describe it in a way I like - it's really more of a clamped fusion rifle, which is why its stats are so low - for a fusion rifle it's accurate.
-
Use it with hipfire. Pick the more stability option. Becaus the increased range is a lie. Use it with no backup plans if you are a titan. It is very accurate while jumping and hipfire. Start fireing early if the target is running towards you ,they will run into the bullets . Hope this helps.

Sorry but a wolf cannot stop a raging brahma bull in the matador.
-
Just do what the fallen captains do and you'll be fine.
-
Its a very solid choice. The issue is that you need to think of it----and use it----more like a short-ranged, VERY hard-hitting pulse rifle instead of seeing it as a shotgun. Since it does its damage in a pulse, you want to reach out and hit your targets before they get into typical shotgun range....because----once there----your Matadors, and other high-impact will llwin ht fight.

I think the thing is its very forgiving. If you miss with the twatador then it take a while to re align and shot again by that time you been 1 punched. Try it out, you may like it.
-
You have to use it more like a short range instant fire fusion rifle. My friend and I did a weapons test with it and found that it can 1 shot from. About 2.5x the distance of a God rolled matador. BUT every shot has to hit which can be hard to do when someone is not standing still.
-
I used it last year some. It wrecks. You can't use it like a shotgun tho. I tried to use it like a fusion rifle that had no charge. Aim center mass in the body and spray. Add one more trigger pull if the first one didn't do it. If all the shots land, they are going to die. Super fun to use.

has the same range as Metador 64 with no damage dropoff

The range stat on LoW is a flat out lie, that thing destroys once you get used to it. Sometimes it takes more than one shot but it will take an opponent down beyond shotgun range. Personally I prefer to hip-fire it, took me a while to break the habit of aiming down the sights but it seems to perform better that way.
