Make Gunslinger Great Again!

Just wanted to give my two cents on Gunslingers. Buff Throwing Knife back up to standard. Buff Tripmine damage OR give back Sticky property; doesn't need both. These two changes really hampered the playstyle and as a returning Hunter, I honestly felt the class was lackluster. Sure I'm not practiced, but even I have to admit if people can land these things, they shouldn't be punished for it. The game is punishing the subclass because of the skill of a minority. Doesn't seem right. Another change I had in mind was adding an Unflinching effect to Golden Gun. Yes, yes: We've all seen people ask for resistances or an overshield. But we can all clearly see why that's out of the question. But I don't believe that asking for mitigated or possibly even zero flinch during such a short duration for a struggling Super is a bad idea. It will help improve consistency of the Super, which is apparently the bread and butter of the subclass considering everything else is a high risk low reward skillshot at this point. I just wanted to say this because I tried Gunslinger the other day and realized that, with such short time constraints, on such small maps, with so many high rate of fire meta weapons aiming for High-Caliber Rounds Meta Rolls . . . Golden Gun is absolutely one of the most difficult Supers to use. I used to say it was easily better than Sunbreaker. Now I'm not so sure. I think it needs helped. Feel free to disagree, I'm an inexperienced Hunter (main Titan, 1v1 these dukes, bro) who was just hoping to see a popular subclass revitalized. I'd rather see Gunslingers than Bladedancers anyhow, at least they have to aim. Bladedancers just spam everything until it auto-tracks/lunges and hits. Gunslingers [i]work[/i] for their kills.

  • lol, the only subclass that need to be buff is sunsinger. gunslinger is op as fuq and it the most op subclass in the game.

    • Im all on board for this, but it wouldnt get me bk to playing destiny. Destiny is a lootgrinder and the loot system doesn't make any sense in y2. Complete easy//intermediate content and get the best stuff in the game? Complete the hardest content and get dick for rewards? Doesn't make sense in a lootgrinder. Im all for making gunslinger great again, but i want DESTINY to be great again - like it was in Y1.

          • Allot of this sounds reasonable... and that's blasphemy on this forum. I dissagree that bladedancer is easier to use than golden gun but different strokes for different folks. I'm not big on a throwing knife buff I think it should remain right around other charged melee attacks. But I agree a tripmine rework is in order. This is a subclass that I feel is more towards utility than ability and bungie should indeed reworks some nodes as such.
