Fallen Lore Question

So I have read my fair share of lore experts/grimore prices but one thing I'm want ask lore experts is.... What was each fallen house made for? And what I mean is that in lore that each house i.e. Devils, wolves, Kings etc... Had their own part in the government I am just curious of each houses respected role in the elskini government before the whirlwind

Well, here's an answer to your question: House of Kings = Politicians House of Judgement = Judge and Jury House of Winter = Snow Shovelers (The Whirlwind was caused because they skipped a day of work). House of Wolves = Hunters (Not the Hunters we know but hunters that hunt for meat) House of Devils = Devil Worshippers House of Exile = Prisoners House of Scar = Doctors House of Stone = Miners House of Rain = Water Treatment That's all the houses I know of. There's probably more but you get the picture.

    • Segregation and division. The same way humans have always been even within its own race. Clans that separated from each other with their slightly different rules and systems, with time they kept advancing and either growing by conquering or falling. 8 mentioned houses made it to the top, survived and learned to live with each other

    • They come from Pre-whirlwind society. They were noble houses or something and the Fallen are desperately trying to hold on to that idea so they don't feel like such misfits and remember how great they used to be. The houses are in a constant struggle to prove they are the most noble and important.

Anyone saying the names of the Houses reflect their place in pre-Whirlwind society is speculating without any concrete evidence except maybe in reference to The House of Judgment. We know that in modern times the Houses are more or less the Fallen's equivalent of nation-states. They each have a self contained political and military hierarchy and claim territory independent of one another. We know their hierarchy is at least an echo of their past which suggests that pre-Whirlwind they were at least vaguely feudalistic. We know that prior to its collapse the House of Judgment seemed to serve as a kind of intermediate between the Houses, at least in post-Whirlwind society. They served as advisors to the Kells and leaders of other Houses and served as the lore keepers of their past. What if any specific function any other House served during pre-Whirlwind society is unknown, though the authorship of the Kell of Kells Prophecy was attributed to the House of Rain.

They're basically the same race but different Clans. I believe also it's kind of a bred thing after they established the houses. If you're born into House of Devils, they're a member of that house. I'm assuming the "government" of the fallen set up some aptitude test to properly sort them.

    • The houses werent around on their home world. It wasnt until oryx attacked and caused the traveler to run that their politics fell to ruin and thus created the different houses similar to how when the collapse happened the vanguard, dead orbit and new monarchy and such came into being. Just different people volleying for power through the chaos, trying to take control and become the new main leader or kell
