Gunslinger Setup

I typically run scout and shotty with sealed grasps as gunslinger. My scout is usually saterine rapier for both PvE and PvP but recently ive been using Clever Dragon in PvP because it's just too good. Shotty is usually last-ditch or invective. Ill switch to snipers in PvE in certain parts of certain activities but also occasionally in PvP. Usually run Nemesis Star in crucible but always launcher in PvP. Exotic armor piece is always sealed ahamkara grasps because despite relatively low quality melees for hunter, it still is pretty useful and typically better than other exotic armor pieces. I usually go without primary exotics because I like being versatile for when I play Nightstalker and then i begin to rely on perks too much and they don't always transition well or there are better options. Scout/Clever Dragon give range with primary and shotgun gives protection in close quarters. This is mostly because throwing knives don't work too well. If you get too close, you regular melee which means you die by shotty in the face. Even precision hits don't kill, even with incendiary perk, which is absolute bull considering its pretty difficult to get one. There are only 2 great things about knives. They are that they are assist machines and if you do it right, they can help get quick kills. Assist machines because if you hit it does about half damage. This means if you turn the corner and see doom staring you in the face, throw it and someone else picks up the kill. They get quick kills if you lead with them and then pop one or two shots and move on. That's the great thing about sealed grasps because i can do that fairly consistently. Also i can throw two right after each other if I have the time for a kill. But knives are not a close quarters option. In terms of gunslinger grenades, I use incendiary grenades because swarm just sucks and trip mines are down in quality. For perks I go triple jump, combustion, incendiary knives, keyhole, and chain of woe. Only problems I encounter are typically running out of super before I can effective but combustion and keyhole allow me to occasionally get 4 kills with GG. Im honestly doing pretty decent at crucible but lately I have been inconsistent but I think that's because I was considering voopers and have been trying to spread my kills to newer weapons for new experience. What do you guys usually run and got any ideas for changes to mine?

Hunters are definitely a breed of its own in terms of combat style and capablities. The biggest thing they lack however is the ability to retaliate appropriately in those close, limited situations, where Warlock melee almost always prevail, unless your running shotgun.. but even then, Warlocks can follow up so much more efficiently and powerfully with their melees if an extra hit is needed. With that being said I really like your idea of running double knives. It gives the Hunter a lot more opportunities to win close encounters. Its too bad gunslingers and their knives are the only option in meleeing from afar. Sure Nightstalkers can be op with wombo, with design to kill/suppress with nades before Warlocks can get too close but cmon, what good do they do when they are on CD, plus in close situations, its 10/10 just better to palm smack someone thats 4 feet away rather than throw a nade. Their too slow to throw (along with landing it right) in comparison with Warlock melee. And as for Bladedancers.. forget about it. Warlock melee is just overall.. better, especially Stormcallers. Rn i think hunters are underpowered imo, and i think its intended for it to be that way by Bungie. Hunters are not powerful sorcerers, they are... scumlike.. Men of tricks and trades.. Han Solo like figures. They aren't meant to be a traditional source of power and reliability, instead they are outlaws with unique abilities and understanding of power. Hunters should be appreciated just the way they are i think though, as Bungie represents them and implements them in this great game. They are are wonderful classes, no hunter is identical.. In all, id just like to say that though Hunters and Titans do feel like they are underpowered in comparison to Warlocks, its totally possible that the these classes are in fact balanced, and they just appear to be undervalued as the average player goes about into Destiny combat and faces other people who destroy with Warlock. Its about skill, all of it. And its really all up to you if you think otherwise. For the record i am currently playing Bladedancer for quick draw Clever and Woodworm
