Think of it this way, vault space is like a thumb drive, it stores information from a main source (your player inventory) to a temp. Housing, making the vault bigger would mean getting a bigger thumbdrive for every player...
As for weapon balancing, thats a minefield for the developement team. Regardless of what they do, they will still get people calling foul. They remove bloom on handcannons and we get a handcannon meta, weapons like TLW dominates pvp and in a week you have people coming back demanding nerfs...

I did the math on another thread. Assuming each vault file is 3-4kb, which is generous given it's only a low-pixel thumbnail and basic file information (item + roll for gear, item + quantity for inventory), then doubling or even tripling the vault space for current gen would take 10-20Tb for the [i]entire[/i] Destiny community. There's no excuse. It's 2017 and you could fit that on someone's desk.

I never said it was impossible i was simply explaining how the vault worked. It could definently be expanded but it would require buying up new servers and maintaining those servers which costs money...

All you (they, rather) have to do is install a few extra hard drives and allocate more space for each player profile. To compare, it's as easy as going to your computer browser's options, and allocating more space for temporary internet files by moving a sliding bar over a little bit

Oh I don't doubt that. Can't imagine the millions they got from FotL and the Dawning but can't spend a few grand to give us the space to store everything they want us to collect.

Let's just hope that for Destiny there is a significant amount of Vault Space if not very very high or even some outrageous number like 10,000 spaces lol. Honestly, for me, and for a lot of people I talk with, Destiny 2 would serve better as one gigantic patch for Destiny, with everything they planned just added on, and you can still keep all your old weapons and gear. Mind you, that's just me and a few others. The fact that we'll probably lose 99% of our collections, items, weapons, gear, emotes, ghosts, ships, sparrows, etc etc is very very discouraging to think about. BUT, hopefully a lot of these key issues are addressed AND solved in Destiny 2. As bad as a full reboot and restart would be, there will still be a large player base playing the game, however I think a lot of people who are collectors will be bummed out. I know this conversation topic has two sides to it. Lol
