I'm very surprised Uncharted gets so much love. It's good, don't get me wrong, but it's not that good.
no one important (of the good guys) even died for christ's sake. Drake just acted like a baby the whole game about only being in it for his brother and not- hm. I've had a realization whilst typing. There were a few moments his expression said he was enjoying it. That he was loving the adventure. If that was the case, then why does he want to home so badly? Has Elena got him on a chain that tight? I feel like they went for a mushy, relatable ending instead of something fitting of Nathan Drake.
•
Drake wanted to get home so badly because he was afraid of losing Elena.
•
yeah, but he let that cloud his moral judgement too much. Why give up the life if he likes it so much? For Elena? That's it? One chick, in trade for a lifetime of adventure, action, and riches? It just... makes no sense to me.
• I'm surprised 2 gets so much love, honestly. I thought it was decent at best. Maybe it hasn't aged well, and maybe the rest of the industry has caught up to its standard. Regardless, 4 is easily one of the best adventure games I've played in years. It's gorgeous, thrilling, stylish, and emotional. Not flawless, obviously.
I was expecting a death or maybe even something putting Drake or someone else in a wheelchair. So yeah, I thought the ending was pretty underwhelming, especially countering Rafe's stupid sword animations that delivered the wrong signals.
•
i actually enjoyed the sword fight a ton. The detailed melee combat throughout the game was another plus.
Maybe 4 was better than 2. I don't really know. I expected so much from 4 because I got it very recently and I had been hearing reviews and people commenting on how great it was, when honestly... I think I had more fun playing through DOOM. Maybe it's preference or something, but I just don't feel the same allure. I loved Sam's character, but Nathan felt almost unnatural.

  • Uncharted 2 is still the best one.

  • Come back soon, I agree that the games aren't as good as they're made out to be

I edited the end of the thought in. I played the others, but the way this one's story unfolded just felt... unnatural. My doubt was in the situation that naughty dog showed Nathan getting caught up in the action and loving it, but Elena would always shut him down.

  • I'm okay with it, I guess, but it doesn't seem right. Nathan's an adventurer. He shouldn't die drinking coffee in his Lazyboy. He should die in a blaze of glory.
