What were those mites.

So today I'm here to talk about those mites that infected just about every single one us just a day ago. I'm going to tell you what those things may have been based on. So from the OWL reports we know that the mites didn't seem to have a negative effect on us guardians, quite the opposite really. Humans on the other hand didn't react as well. One patient was put into a coma, another became much stronger and smarter but became somewhat agressive, maybe impulsive. Another patient started to float two inches off the ground. Based on these effects alone I think I can point my finger in the general area where this nano-mite's origins may lie. The answer? The travelers light. Now remember this was around the time of the traveler's discovery and the golden age was about to take off, so this would kinda make sense. Consider these mites as Isolated effects of the light, these experiments were probably with a mystery "element" Bray's scientists found and played with. Because this isn't as refined as our light the effects were incomplete and sometimes fatal. Floating two inches off the ground? Sounds a little like anklet of light. Increased strength and intelligence? Titans are pretty strong. Warlocks are pretty smart. Borderline impulsiveness? I can name at least one hunter that's fairly impulsive. The amazing Cayde-6. These effects are fairly similar to the guardians and their abilities. The only problem is, it's not the traveler's pure light, therefore the effects would never be very stable. This would explain why they aren't exactly the same. And in the event I still haven't convinced you, there's one last effect I haven't mentioned yet. That patient that fell into a coma, he woke up. Want to know what they did when they woke up?
Z. SHIRAZI CB-PZ-5.2 Yesterday, with a wild yell, Patient B sat up, then started singing and dancing.

SHU: They're Guardians, Quist. Means the Light has cooked their brains. Haven't you seen them dancing in the Plaza, for no reason, with no music at all? We'll take what we can get.
Need I say more? TL;DR To sum up, I think the mites were created from people poking at the traveler and its light. They made nano-mites to carry the elements discovered and hope to use them to help efforts in colonization. Hope you enjoyed.
