Same for me. It glows when its "night time" in the game but not during the day. I just figured it was ment that way.
At first i thought it was a bug because it happened after i went to Eva to try out different shaders. Later i noticed the night/day thing.

That's what I thought initially, but then I noticed I'd be just floating in orbit and it would still happen occasionally. As far as I know, there's no "day/night" cycle in orbit. (Btw if you look at the screenshots I provided in the other comment to Bungie, they are both during the day.) That's what led me to throw that theory out the window.

it has more to do with light/dark places, for example in aksis his room or the crota raid it lights up, yet if i stand outside the entrance of crotas raid on the moon its gold.
