120 Mbps = 15 MBps = 900 MB / min = 54 GB in an hour. Gotta love semimodern ISPs! I can't wait until my city goes to fiber.

Goes to fiber? Uh... A friend wants to know what that means.
-
Internet service used to go over phone lines. It currently goes over cable lines (coax). The latest and greatest is fiber lines. They use light to transmit data. DSL (glorified dial up, phone lines) goes up to like 10 or 20 Mbps or something. Shit quality, tons of issues when I had it. Cable internet can go to like 300 Mbps. Fiber typically offers 1,000 Mbps (1 Gbps) to customers. It is also usually the same price as a 100-300 Mbps cable internet.

It will probably be a long time before I get to use it, then. Services like that never reach the countryside.
-
Fiber's great until it goes out and you can't reset it...
-
I got fiber! 😀
-
Bet you gotta take a lot of shits man. Jk, but I'll kill you for it.
-
You'll kill for more fiber in your diet?
Shoulda had your Wheaties. 😂
-
My momma got me dem Lucky Charms.
-
I doubt there's a drop of fibre to be seen in those things. Mainly sawdust and broken promises.
-
Maybe it's Maybelline?
-
Maybe... Maybe.
-
Lol close enough.

Edited by Castration Cabin: 11/29/2016 8:11:29 AMWhat's fiber?
-
Very thin glass cables that transmit information as light. It's basically as fast as it can get, if I'm not mistaken. The only thing with better bandwidth would be a truck with a bunch of terabyte cards in a shoebox. Slower, but more data.
The manliest monocle you'll ever meet
Fiber optic internet.
-
What's the difference?
-
Considerable speed differences. Currently, I've got 1Gbps down, and up. MY local cable provider could only give 200mbps max.
-
Wow! Does it cost a lot more?
-
Nope, I'm actually paying the same as I would for the 200mbps, and I don't have a data cap.
-
That's awesome! Wish they had it in rural areas
-
Yes that would be awesome! I hate how that dictates the service your receive, and the price you pay.
-
If you eat plenty of it it makes you shit better.
-
Try living in the Northern Irish countryside. I'm lucky if I get 3-4 Mbps during off-peak.
-
I've never seen mine at two. It averages maybe 0.6 Rural America boyz
-
Damn, and I thought mine was bad!
