I'm just not impressed with streamers in general and this one in particular. He's ranting. He isn't actually looking at the weekly updates objectively, he's cherry picking comments and relating them out of context. I won't go as far as saying he's being dishonest, but his bias is preventing him from examining this on a more level basis. In short, like most of the vocal community on this point, he thinks he knows what he wants and is not interested in hearing the other side of it. The last person I want to hear talk about how unfair this system is would be a person who makes a living dominating the average player. Please, don't cry about how hard it is for you all the time. It's your job.

  • It seems to me you're ignoring what he's saying because of your opinion of him. He is a dick.....but you should never ever for any reason be matched with someone on a different continent. I mean ffs, what clown thought that would be a good idea??? 12 best connections, divide up the teams....is that too much to ask?

  • Ordinarily that shouldn't happen, but this is different. He's one of the very best players in the world. Who should he be playing? Me? I'm nothing compared to him. What kind of competition would be to him? Other than helping to build his montage, there is no purpose for either of us. Players should be matched with those that are close in ability. In a perfect world connections wouldn't matter. I can say I understand the issues related with players matched around the world because I do; do you really think he would be willing to admit he would complain about being matched with similar talent all the time?

  • I get what youre saying , he is an anoying guy, but really good at this pvp crapshoot. Probably would be pretty pissed when i had his skill level to i am afraid. But thats not the case so i get wrecked even when there is a good connection, lol. What bothers me the most is the attitude from Bungie, with just saying ,it works as intended. We all know it isnt, sometimes it does but moreoften it doesnt. Be honest about it and say , sorry guys it isnt working as we thought it would, we are trying to resolve this in Destiny2. I am not playing Destiny anymore , nothing to do really, done the raid, all caracters are max light, all good by me. Playing the Division now with my son, not a bad game . Never bin to New York, and dont want to by the looks of it.lol Best of luck in Destiny my friend, maybe we meet again in Destiny 2. Cheers

  • We all move on at some point. I'm looking forward to Andromeda next year. Been a long time since I've played a game with true character development. Mass Effect is the high bar for me. Hoping Andromeda takes that to the next level. Good luck in your gaming!

  • Good post, ironBill. Glad to see some folks can actually see with their eyes. Basically, screw Wish You Luckk and anyone that supports him or his sort and/or wants to see through his point of view. This guy is highly ranked and is stumping in a loud and small-minded way for what he wants you (meaning anyone) to see. End of file. If you're among the very small minority top tier type player, of course it's going to take longer to find you a match. Get over it. I've improved a lot and still getting better. Will I ever make it to elite level..........I dunno, most likely not, but regardless I'll never be like this asshole featured by the O.P. For a much more realistic and civilized point of view from one of the the very best pvp players I'd recommend watching True Vanguard.

  • He made an excellent point of why I will never watch his stream or listen to anything else he has to say. I stopped listening when he call everyone "trashcans". Yeah, great way to get people on your side. And don't forget, most of the people watching his stream are those very same "trashcans".

  • Actually, not really. His passion carries clearly, but so does his lack of reserve. I've sat across a table with plenty of folks like this over the years. The minute that volume goes up and the cursing starts, it really doesn't matter what he has to say. He had himself worked up to a real spit by the end of it.

  • I'm not saying the guy is completely wrong. I'm saying he didn't comport himself in a controlled manner. It brings his judgement into question. Kind of like 3 AM tweets from our president elect.

Nah. You're just being an arrogant and completely ridiculous human being. Anyone who acts like he lost credibility just because he said a curse word, is a complete moron. Guess what. You say those words. I say those words. Everyone says those words. Everyone says things they shouldn't. Everyone stares at the waitress' ass when she walks away. Everyone. Everyone sneaks a peak at an answer to a question every now and again. Everyone. Everyone has cut corners at work to make a deadline. Everyone. Everyone has said something either racist or prejudice against another person or group of persons. Everyone. And everyone looks at their shit before they flush it. EVERYONE. Anyone who ever tries to deny any of these things is a liar. And that's not speculation. That is something I can say with the utmost of certainty. So for you to judge him, as though you are better, actually makes you a worse human being. He may have gotten all up in arms over the situation. But he's actually making an effort to bring awareness to the problem and offer up tangible and economical ways to remedy the situation. All you're doing is feeding into the playground banter and you actually offer nothing of substance to the conversation. You're a foot note. You might as well not even exist. In every other multiverse next to this one, you are just a stain on the carpet. Remember that. Also, what's the biggest problem in the US? Economy? Sure is. Loss of jobs. Companies moving out of he country. A crippled currency. Guess what. A &:&;$(&ing billionaire was just elected the president. If there is anyone who knows how to fix the biggest problems this country currently faces, it's probably the guy who has spent his entire life building everything you currently take for granted.

  • Heh, whatever. I never mentioned his qualities as a human being, didn't make an overall judgment of him as a person, never cast him as evil. I said he was ranting, and he was.
rant verb ranting speak or shout at length in a wild, impassioned way.
I questioned his motivation.
motivation noun the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.
Then I observed my perception of the combination.
perception noun a way of regarding, understanding, or interpreting something; a mental impression.
The way you reacted to that was exaggeration,
exaggeration noun a statement that represents something as better or worse than it really is.
deflection,
deflect verb cause (someone) to deviate from an intended purpose.
and misconstrued.
misconstrued verb interpret (something, especially a person's words or actions) wrongly.
Tell you a secret after decades of working with the public... perception is reality. For a professional, the worst thing you can do when dealing with the public is lose control of yourself. You don't have to believe that, but it's true. Let's go back to your last comment regarding the president elect. You actually believe a multi-billionaire who became rich by exploiting the poor and underprivileged, by shipping his manufacturing overseas, who has evaded every single tax he ever could, who in all likelihood has most of his money hidden offshore, and who is now trying to appoint members of his family to key positions in his cabinet (you know, the people that are supposed to be running his company in a blind trust?) is looking out for you. You believe that because he told you. He spoke in your language directly to you. He played your worst fears on you. All the warning signs are there for what he is going to do, and in fact is in the process of doing, and you still believe him. Now I don't want to get too much into the muck on this politics sidetrack other than to illustrate another truth - never underestimate what people will believe when they want something to be true. People want great factory jobs to come back - well, they aren't. We can pull out of NAFTA and renegotiate all the treaties we want, but it's a global economy now, period. Unless we want to work for the same wages Mexican workers are willing to take (where Mr. Trump makes his suits, incidentally), we aren't getting those jobs back. No act of Congress will change that, that's a corporate decision. Trump can talk tough about China all he wants, but guess who owns our debt? China. Guess who can bankrupt us overnight? China. Now you can believe this streamer if you wish. As others have pointed out, he makes some decent points, if you can get past his delivery. That doesn't for a second alter his motivation, and, like Mr. Trump, you'd better always have an eye on why people want something when your interests are involved.

  • I agree with you on nearly every point except this:
For a professional, the worst thing you can do when dealing with the public is lose control of yourself. You don't have to believe that, but it's true.
This rule often doesn't apply when you consider people who are professionally famous. When the whole point of your job is to draw attention losing control can be helpful. People are drawn to passionate oratory. It often doesn't matter if the message isn't completely coherent. If his job is to gain viewers, this post is evidence his method is working. Whether he's right or not is a separate issue.

  • I think passion is great. Michelle Obama's speeches strike the correct balance of heart and mind. It comes across as authentic and real when done correctly. What this fellow did was different. He got shrill. Completely different effect.

  • Yes, very different. That doesn't necessarily mean one style of delivery is better than the other though. The best method of delivering a message is the one that is heard and resonates with the target audience.

  • I will admit I like the guy. I have watched him play several times as he is legit one of the best players in the game. I think he's about 7th or 8th on destiny tracker. I can see it from his point of view on where he mentions the playing people in korea as we discussed the other day I have the same issues with that and I am not in his league. I am an average player and thats ok. but if I had the issues that I get now from being average now I shudder at the level of laggy games he must pull. but destiny wants to go competitive. they dont quite have the right set up for that right now. I would say a cutting down of game types and a league play system is a great idea. turn crucible cbmm and have league sbmm. that way people can be protected and crucible can get increase quality connections. however as you say his delivery is a bit irate. which when thats how you pay the rent and feed the children it must be annoying. But I still think some of his ideas are worthy of notice, just maybe not the tone. but I will admit when I saw that TWAB if you had taken the first thoughts from me in a video I am not sure it would have been much different as I knew that was me and destiny done. but I calmed down and discussed my ideas/issues/concerns and plans for my gaming in the future and had some good discussions with people who have differing views. but that cutting down of the game modes so the population swells in the remaining ones and then create a league play system with sbmm would to be solve a lot of my issues.

  • I agree completely Bill. All he does in this video is rant and rave. It is quite obvious he believes his opinion and the opinions of other youtubers/steamers are more important than the general community. All he is succeeding in with this video is making any educated person see him as a biased, uneducated child.

  • It is his job and if it were easier maybe he'd do better and get more subscribers. Very possible. My problem is there is no reliable evidence to suggest players would quit or have quit because of CBMM. There is equally no reliable evidence to suggest talented players haven't quit due to SBMM. If Bungie is trying to please the majority of players it's a subjective decision. One can uncover all the pertinent data they'd like but nothing can be attributed factually to either side of the argument; Deej shouldn't be defending the status quo due to these reasons. Helmets in the tower was a minority-driven change. Because there is a precedent it is hypocritical of the community to consider the sample size of these forums. And if SBMM's removal garnered 70% support on bnet then I can't make sense of anything.

  • Not a big fan of Wish or much of YouTubers in general, but that's not the point, it's about the message. I chose this video because of the emotion that was displayed along w/ the points. I feel I speak for the majority of the loyal Destiny players when I say the outrage showcased in this profane video is an accurate depiction of our frustration towards Bungie & their BS manipulative lies, taking advantage of 1 of the best gaming communities, & flat-out laziness. Your hatred towards a person should never exceed your ability to appreciate the message being sent.

  • I don't hate anyone. I consider the source for what it is. I feel streamers have a vested interest in crafting the game into something from which they can profit, and unfortunately don't see where his interests intersect with mine. As far as I'm concerned, the PvE game I loved owes its decline in large part to the impact of the vocal PvP players, chief amongst them the streamers. I heard him speak as if he and other streamers' input was more valuable than the rank and file players' and I believe that to be a Freudian slip. That is how they behave, and it's probably true, but it still is arrogant.
