I'm getting more and more convinced bungie doesn't know how to measure latency, and when they say "connection quality", they only look at bandwidth.
One of their network developers is a moron and he's probably going all "oh shit oh shit oh shit, everybody else in my team is going to figure out how much I screwed up any time".
Also, if they did stop the bullshit with playstation exclusive, you could have matchmaking through BOTH communities (other games proved that it is possible), and you'd get twice as many players to choose from.

Unfortunately sony are asshats (The company not the playerbase to get that clear) and dont want cross console play they rely on exclusives to be a preference its why I have stopped buying games for the PS4 and only get the kids games on PC or nintendo now.

Pretty much, you need to blame Sony and Microsoft for not getting along. It has been a very strained relationship now for about 15 or so years. Back around 2002 or so, we started seeing it slope off dramatically. Now it is virtually non-existent between the two camps, and where it does exist it is usually tied into a history with the franchise that dates back to a time when the two companies got along better.

I am not an intense multiplayer player and did not know there were any successes in this area.

With rocket league pc players can play with both ps4 and xbone players. Although ps4 and xbone players can't on play with pc players, not with each other.
