Thoughts on the Cabal/Vex Relation
The general idea is that Destiny 2 will focus on the Cabal. Personally I'm hoping for this to be the case. I mentioned in another post/topic that I have seen that each of the enemy factions are tied to the Hive in some way and thus the Darkness.
With the Cabal's inability to permanently kill the Guardians they have turned to researching how the Hive do so (See Ghost Fragment: Cabal 4). The Cabal also have some large fascination in Vex technology and anything else relatimg to them it would seem.
This could be to try and use time travel to stop their home world from being attacked or destroyed or whatever might have happened. Personally I belive that the Cabal might want to learn how the Vex are able to convert planets into factories and machines. The implications of the Cabal turning a planet into an assembly line for military wares is frightening.
I belive an interesting point to consider in all of this is that the Vex deduced the sword logic and created the VoG to mirror the ascendant throne worlds. They worshipped the Dark Heart in the Black Garden and have found ways to erase Guardians who are filled with Light.
I would like to put out the idea that the Cabal could potentially become one our most fierce opponents if they understand the secrets of the Vex AND Hive. They could learn to drain Guardians of their Light using Hive arcana (or a varient) while using the technological efficiency of the Vex to further their militant empire.

4 Repliesthe cabal are a big threat. remember how the fleet on mars is already merely a ''scouting party''. with a huge moving fortress and commanders like th'aurc. they already experiment on vex technology and have the psions with impressive minds. mind fused with overwhelming force is always a problem, look at the house of kings. not to forget that they wanted to launch phobos or mars into earth.

5 RepliesI don't think the Cabal are of the darkness. I think the Vex technology appears in Mars when your ghost tries to hack Cabal computers on the very first mission. I think the Cabal have their own Warminds, like Merlyn and Confucius.

6 RepliesI think even more intriguing is that they might wind up allied with us in the fight against a resurgent Vex or Hive. Zavala can say what he wants, the enemy of my enemy is potentially an ally. And besides, having our own heavy slug throwers would be awesome.

5 Repliesi hope they actually implement military strategy into the cabal raid. eg. waves of phalanxes and leigonaries dont just free roam. they stay in a formation. use artillery. outflank us. try to corner us. that would truely feel like a fun fight.

I always thought the cabal were the sad losers of the darkness, while the fallan, hive, and vex are brutally fighting, the cabal are either taken ir drinking bleach in the corner

6 RepliesWell, there is some speculation in what you said about the Cabal learning time travel. What the Cabal want from the Vex, is how to create areas where the Light cannot penetrate, as a means of killing Guardians permanently. This is one of the reasons why they are researching the gate, and also why they would like to capture Hive and study Hive weaponry. And I dont think the Vault of Glass was created to mirror the Ascendant plane. The Ascendant plane is where the Hive live in their full arcane glory and their truest forms. But that is not the case for the Vault of Glass. The Vault of Glass is but a house. Or course, no matter who's house you go in, you are subject to their rules. Which is why the Vex have so much power there.

Edited by xRyuVx: 11/17/2016 3:45:03 PMIncoming wall of text Part one ID2 should start off with the Vanguard massing a large scale assault on the Fallen Kings in the European Dead Zone, ( it would be a great start for new players and a nice welcome for returning players) after serval missions and maybe a small scale raid, reports star coming in of a large cabal attack force invading the tower. So we have to abandon the hunt for the kings leadership. After a large scale battle and the tower and city being heavily damaged, after we finally push back the strike force to find out a large scale fleet is approaching earth.

Not in any way related to the theory but I bet the Cabal would shatter moons just to get at Siva. I'm a little disappointed we didn't get to see that happen after the Cabal tried to get into the Clovis Bray research.

2 RepliesThe Cabal third fleet will arrive. They might come to the Dreadnaught and Mars first. We will have a good ol' fashioned war. Then the Vex will enact their plans and -blam!- us over big time. The Hive will officially contact Savathun and/or Xivu Arath and then THEY will come and -blam!- us over.

It would be scary if in destiny 2 the cabal found a way to combine vex/hive technology to fight guardians effectively. This maybe would give the guardians a reason to go to europa in a way to finally a way to fight back
