How to beat challenge mode (Solved)
ITS SOLVED.
Use all the bombs to activate all the clean rooms. Kill him like normal. Easy
More detail. So during the DPS phase bombs drop. Use these bombs to activate two clean rooms. His health should almost be half down. On the second phase don't kill him and use the bombs to activate the other two rooms. You have now activated all four rooms. You can just kill him like normal and boom you've beat it.

[spoiler]you're going to get a emblem for HM only. An ornament for HM as well. Past that, you have a chance at both siege engine and Vosik drops. They ARE NOT for sure 400 drops, they are still based on your light level and people seem pretty mad about this. [/spoiler]

Note* it appears you have to kill him in 3 damage phases. So do it like I said above and use two rooms a phase. Hopefully this helps[/i]
Huge tip!!! I had a lot of issues with bombs missing safe rooms to activate them. Simple tip.

How does "We have to beat him in three phases. Also, we have to use the four rooms in the first two phases. Make sure you throw the SIVA bomb at the door trigger" get misconstrued into, " Let's do this in four phases"? They wondered why we didn't get it. I have no idea how I can dumb done these basic instructions. Do you have any pointers on how I can dumb this down even further?

14 RepliesWow, What is with Bungie making the "challenge" easier then the normal way? All this does is take longer to kill the boss, Even without the bombs you can kill him in 3 tries. Its just like Oryx challenge all that did was make the raid easier by only doing one bomb run!

2 RepliesMan what's funny is our first time going into the raid blind after a few whips I noticed the doors light up and that 2 siva bombs dropped. My first guess was we needed those bombs to shut the doors and the reason they gave you 2 is incase someone died with 1. Now come to find out i half ass solved challange mode on day 1.

2 RepliesDon't know about you guys, but my fireteam and I were having some CRAZY issues doing it tonight. So many times I'd nail the switch, visually the door would drop and we'd even get the action feed message it was closed...and then we'd die. Or random people inside the room would die. Dregs teleporting left and right, monitors going down and SIVA density still going critical.. Went to orbit numerous times and still had issues. Everyone was greenbar too. Even had a time where I was killing adds and suddenly a few tracker orbs appeared right in front of me. Literally. It's like the freaking teleporting jesus ogres all over again. FFS.

3 RepliesDoes anyone know if you need to have all pieces of raid gear in your inventory in order to get the shader? I got every piece of spliced armor on my Titan except for the butt cape and I really REALLY want to infuse it into my regular gear because the raid gear is hideous imo. But I'm afraid to do so because of the chance that I might need to acquire all the gear again

29 RepliesEdited by Mr Wii 1: 11/3/2016 1:28:57 AMCongrats if you completed challenge mode. You were able to throw a SIVA charge at a reversed doorbell. Equip your new emblems and be very proud. Edit: Zero Salt. I completed it 2 times with a 3rd soon to come. Edit 2: Tip. The two people at mid (grabbing the last charges) can jump high up to see which rooms are open. This saves a couple of seconds instead of running over to the sides. It's not about hitting a door knob with an explody thingy 1 foot in front of you. It's about the skillful finesse it takes to aim, center and connect with said target. Be proud fellow guardians. Be very proud.

We just had 1 bomber trower go left and 1 go right. If the 2 doors were on left or right, it was a wipe. 9 times of 10 its 1 left and 1 right. Makes it so -blam!-en easy, takes all the confusion and unnecessary communication out. For the other 4 players its the same vosik fight and you can go left or right knowing that there will be a door either side. Not very challenging.

2 RepliesCan you get the Emblem/Ornament on normal? I want a 2nd/3rd ornament but I've not put as much focus into my 2 alts. I tried challenge on normal with an incompetent team. We destroyed the safe rooms with bombs and killed him on 3 runs. However, the items didn't drop. Either it was their incompetence with not following the rule of "don't shoot that flashing light," or normal doesn't drop it. Yes, I did it on a different character than my first.

One of my fire team members said: "Wait, it says this is not a drill? Guys, we need to kill him with a drill!". Guess who got kicked from the team due to stupidity?

7 RepliesWe got it first go. 4 warlocks, a titan and a warlock. Titan and hunter dropped tether and weapons on damage phase and fired off a few sleepers till charges dropped, they grabbed charges and went straight to doors and closed immediately. 4 locks stayed mid firing sleepers until right before critical to max the dps then jumped in pit and revived. It was crazy easy using this strat/team composition. Max time on dps since there wasn't a need to stop to run to doors, no confusion or rush to get to doors since there were dedicated door roles. We didn't plan on the team composition to work out how it did going in but a buddy suggested it when we got there because he noticed 4 revives and was like "hey guys I have an idea...."

2 RepliesDuring dps right before vosik does his AOE 2 charges drop down (that people usually throw at him for extra damage) Split into 2 groups of 3. Each group takes 1 charge And goes left/right and uses the charge on the panel that shuts the room So basically 2 rooms need to be activated every time you dps And you have to kill vosik on the 3rd time (Make sure both groups are in separate rooms) (Crouch when you throw the charge. It helps)

My group had a great time doing the challenge last night. I thought the door "glitch" was too funny. Finally, the designated door closer just stood smack right against the switch and threw the bomb at it. That worked.

I'm guessing Aksis "challenge" mode will be something simple as well. Maybe throwing all nine Siva Charges at him is very time? Yeah, that's sounds simple enough for Bungie. Yawn.
