Their reasoning is f'n stupid... "best in class range" and "tracking enemies via Dot".. The DoT ticks so fast now it's almost instant, I can't tell you the last time I tracked somebody using the DoT. I wish they would have just left it year 1 values so it wouldn't have been nerfed. Now they created another ghost bullet machine like Hawkmoon if you are more than 5 feet away. I did some testing on it a last week or so and the damage drop-off was horendous, hitting for a mere 43 critical damage while Palindrome hit for 68 at distance...that's if the round even registered at all, only 2 out of 5 critical shots registered, another counted as a body shot when it was critical and the other 2...yeah, ghost bullets.

I could be wrong, but isn't thorn in the faster rate of fire archetype for hand cannons and if so it makes sense why its crit shots don't hit as hard as the palindrome archetype

Edited by cuzzybubba1: 10/28/2016 11:27:11 PMI was referring to damage drop-off, I was not expecting it to hit for the same amount as Palindrome but a 20+ dps difference?!? That's steep and tied to the range stat, also don't forget that not only was the range nerf but the DoT was nerfed via artifact if one chose to use it. Bungie clearly stated before ROI launched that nothing on Thorn was being changed which clearly wasn't the case, it was Christopher Barrett who said it. Granted, he's not on the Crucible team but yet again the communication is lacking.

Yes it hits 79-80headshots whereas drome hits 86

I think it is one of the best weapons in pvp right now.

To each their own, glad you like it but as a guardian with just shy of 20,000 kills almost all PvP with it, it's shite now.
-
Whoops, your stats don't lie. I like it though.

I love it bro, it's just fallen in the inconsistent category for me now but again glad some people are still using it as it's the most unique and best looking weapon in Destiny imo.
