Destiny was originally supposed to be like an MMORPG, which rely heavily on random drops. So no, I personally don't think it should be changed, I think it makes it more exciting and rewarding when you finally get it. Either that, or make the quest CRAZY difficult, like year 1 thorn difficult, or Shindig in the Crucible difficult, more so even.

I made a post a week ago that says you need over 20 hard completions for the crux so...
-
I got mine the first time I beat it.
-
You don't NEED that many, I got mine after around 5-10 completions of Crota's End on Hard Mode
-
What's 20 times 5? 100
-
Better question: What is ∫(Sin(x)/x) dx with an upper bound of infinity and a lower bound of 1?
-
I don't think you understand the point
-
Then explain what you meant by 20 * 5 = 100
-
Crux is a 5% drop chance 20 runs (after the first) should be a guaranteed 100% drop but with the way it works it's till 5% every time, I used 20*5=100 to show that it should be guaranteed after 20
-
It doesn't stack, it's a flat 5% drop rate every time, so theoretically you would be right, but because we live in an imperfect world it is not guaranteed to drop even if you've done the raid 20 times.
-
That's not how that works
-
Then....increase drop rate
-
With the probability it's 1/20 therefore you should get one sometime within that
-
what you are describing is called " the monte carlo effect" if the drop rate does not stack, which i don't think it does, then you are wrong. it is a 1 in 20 chance every time, therefore every time it is 1 in 20, it is like roulette, when a number hasn't come up in a long time, people bet it cause it is "due". Which is idiocy, it is just as likely that the number that was just pulled will come up again instead of the one that hasn't come up in the last 30 spins. Each time, each number is just as likely as any other, the same principle applies to drops with a flat rate, if it is 1 out of 20, and say the rng you need to get it is 1, then doing it 20 times does not mean you should get it. it means of those 20 times 1 never came up, and no amount of flawed logic will change that, probability does not change because of trends unless it stacks.
