Skolas Escape Theories

I have three theories a to why the Jovian's helped Skolas escape from the Prison of Elders. 1) The Jovian's wanted to make profit off of us by using their equipment to fight against the "new" threat. They make an enemy for us to fight and we "buy" what they have. 2) The Jovian's wanted to screw with the Reef. They might have some bitterness towards the Awoken. 3) This one is a stretch but just think about it. What if the Jovian's freed Skolas to make an army in order to prepare for the Taken King. 4) What if the Jovian's did this as a way for the Awoken and the Tower to ally in order to prepare for the Taken King. A test so to speak. I'm open to discuss this.

Don't judge me for my belief, but I believe Kabr is part of the Nine in the form of Xur, a guardian drained of his light. Kabr was rescued by nine warminds..
He was literally rescued by The Nine warminds
• The theory I've heard most but am still skeptical on, is that the nine released Skolas knowing he would enter the Vault of Glass because the only way to raise the army he would need was to pull wolves from another timeline. And in entering the VoG, Skolas would see the coming of Oryx, which would warn Mara and others to prepare. When Mara interrogates Skolas afterward, he mentions the "light snuffer" which many have interpreted to be oryx. So Skolas was just an elaborate scheme to warn us of oryx Seems a bit complicated imo but does have a logic.

    • It would appear that when Skolas accessed Vex technology and began messing with time that he "foresaw" the coming of Oryx. This is seen after he is captured. The Queen interrogated him, and his only response is he mumbles something about a dark enemy that is coming (which is strongly suggested to be Oryx). The Queen then immediately called a meeting with Eris and Osiris (most likely) to make a plan for dealing with the Taken King. So maybe the Nine somehow knew that he might be able to test the waters and confirm that Oryx was coming. That would mean that they would have anticipated him messing with the Vault though, which would be odd. However, I think there is something there

        5) Skolas was costing really too much in food and fur clothes. And he smelled too. More seriously, the Nine and Xûr have the most profitable smuggling business in the Solar system. They must do everything necessary to make that last

      • The nine are playing a game and released skolas, even tho the queen gifted him to them. They knew he'd do stuff he did, so they found it enjoyable to watch the destruction. It's probably part of a bigger game they're playing.... or it's part of the older storyline that didn't get fully cut, but it's being shied away from now as time goes on since that storyline isn't being followed. Or it may not come back around til destiny 4. Either way, the nines motives are unclear and are still currently beyond our understanding.

      • It sounds like the Nine are either the Illuminati pulling strings to try to rule the system or they are playing evolutionary god and trying to help humanity and the awoken progress.

          •
2) The Jovian's wanted to screw with the Reef. They might have some bitterness towards the Awoken.
That's definitely the reason. The Reef was too close to the Nine's operations on the Jupiter's moons. Releasing Skolas was a distraction because the Nine knew the Reef wouldn't ignore it.

            • There is a Grimoire about Variks freeing Skolas. When you beat Skolas, it looks like he is infected with SIVA. My view is that Variks the Loyal is actually a double agent. Since Mara Sov and the Awoken have been beaten, Skolas is finding patronage with the Commander of the Cabal.

Why didn't we travel through time to see the coming of Oryx or Siva?? What we sit at the campfire and wait for shit to happen instead of being proactive? This is why I hate this planet, I'm moving to mercury because there are not alot guardians that can make it there.
