Not my words, those of the Bungie lead pvp designer, Mantis:

It's attitudes like that which make me throw money at the screen
Edit:
Another thread in #Destiny, started before mine about the same tweet, if people want to see others thoughts, and share their ideas their too:

My only issue with trials is that it's a weekend only thing. I work graveyard from Friday till Tuesdays morning and it makes it incredibly hard to devote time to do. It's possible but not practical with my schedule. Wish it could be like iron banner for a full week at least once. Not saying I'd make it to the light house, (That's would be 100% dumb luck with my terrible k/d) just saying I'd like to try it with a fire team, and most likely be another teams stepping stone to flawless. Haha
-
It is not intended, however, for people to use endgame-content to relax and have an easy time. I'd like there to be options for the really really good to do so, besides regular crucible, and still be challenged from trials. Just my opinion.
-
They want a competitive league Lighthouse was step 1 Private matches step 2
-
fix the game 1st
-
Personally I just wish trials had match making. I hate lfg anymore. And I don't need flawless so I'm fine if I'm just doing the bounties.
-
I would love to see all the average players stop playing Trials. Then the so-called elites will finally only play against others of the same skill. Then the whining would ensue. "Why is it so hard to go flawless? Why are these guys so good? It's not fair these guys are at the same skill level as me. Why can't I pub-stomp anymore? Bungo nerf Trails" They are just as guilty of not wanting a challenge as the rest of the average players who want to go flawless easily. Every time there's a post suggesting changes to Trials, the elites come out in droves, saying it should be hard for everyone but them. They hardly want a challenge.
-
As an average player, I am fine with this.

Our clan is called "your average playerz"

Edited by ArmyKnight75: 10/24/2016 6:30:28 AMOh great... another asshole who works for Bungo. Everyone should be able to go to the Lighthouse. We've all paid for the content, but some of us can't access it because we're not that great in PvP and we are not looking to be carried. They need to find other ways to make it to the Lighthouse.
-
Do you think that there was once a memo sent out in the Bungie offices that read, "It is absolutely intended that average employees do not get seating in the lunch room. Nothing to fix here"?
-
-
Yet people get carried to the lighthouse every weekend. Getting there use to mean something, now with the amount of people who get carried, you dont know who actually did it or who had a piggy back. Personally i wouldnt mind seeing it just once but i'd want it to be from my skill not because i was carried.........and that will never happen lol,i dont like pvp and i'm no good at it. Anyone who gets carried through any bit of destiny pvp or pve, dont deserve to have the gear.
-
It's because trials is intended for the "good" players and not the "average" players. You got to have skill to go flawless. And a good team. I haven't been flawless myself. Maybe because I'm "average". Well I am. Average players also can't go flawless because when they lose they get frustrated and leave. And when you do have good players on your team, the quit when you lose one match.
-
Totally average player here, I totally agree with Derek's statement, if you don't come up to the standard you don't deserve to go, simple. Would like it so the non adept version of weapons become available through bounties, so us average players aren't locked out of those weapons though, seems a touch unfair for them to be unobtainable for some of us.
-
I've actually had a few conversations recently with a mate about Trials. He was mentioning that you shouldn't be matched against teams that are obviously higher in skill than you (those that have been to the Lighthouse), even if both teams have the same win totals on a current card. His point was that you should have a better chance of advancing, and possibly getting to the promised land. My argument has been, "We suck, and Trials isn't meant for us." I only played it for the record book. That being said, the Twitter quote was from a dev, so you can't really expect couth. I agree with him. It doesn't help that it sounds elitist, since the community lumps Trials and elitism together as it is.
-
Been to the lighthouse 7 times since release of iron. Guess what I'm a above average player at best. Make some friends and practice.
-
The replies to your post show me how stupid people really are. It is depressing.
-
I would believe him if it wasn't full of cheats. Fix that problem and you got an awesome mode in your game.
-
I think because of your post and another very similar post this guy is gonna regret posting this tweet. Take out the lag ,ddos cheaters, account recovery and lighthouse carry and we will see who is good and who is average. They just won't accept that something needs fixing in PvP
-
What about ddos players? "Nothing to fix there"... Pah! On topic: I'm an average player who never give any smelling wastes about not going to the lighthouse lol.
-
I am 384 light, and i shotgun someone point blank who is 382. I died and he lived with a sliver and he was a hunter. This kind of stuff happens far too often, and will ruin this game. This game can never be considered competitive. Its an arcade shooter at best
-
Last night was the sweatiest week to date, just horrible. I've always said once a player goes flawless on one character they should drop out of the Matching pool for that week, not to make it easier but to make matches more competitive/winnable fairly. So 3 flawless runs should be enough for the elite, chances are they aren't there for the loot anyway after Saturday as they've gone on Friday. OR can we at least make normal crucible less "trialsey" as even that seems to be sweatier than ever. No PvP is fun/casual anymore.
-
Are you still playing? Of course you are! Stop whining and do something about it, or be quiet and deal with your fate. You choose to play this
-
Here's another thought about trials: Right now, Trials is the least competitive game mode for every pro team out there because of missing SBMM. Every good player knows this simple fact. Why is the only game mode that can be considered as "competitive" the least competitive game mode for the best players?
-
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this.
-
Edited by KaratekAlan: 10/24/2016 1:29:14 AMHmmm. Then why is it that 'average' players will pay 50+ dollars to go to the lighthouse? Why is it that streamers will carry 'average' players to go to the lighthouse?
