So what are your ideas for new weapon types?
Mine are
1, a mortar type heavy that rewards getting used to the gun, there will be a constant drop-off after the projectile reaches max hight but can be set down for more accuracy by crouching. This explodes and causes smoke (like hunter grenade) on impact.
2, mixable weapons like a fusion hand cannon (charge up single shot primary) or a scout sniper (faster fire rate lower damage secondary) but nothing op like a machine launcher ( rapid rocket heavy) but compromises like the rockets act more like explosive rounds.

Pulse shotgun. Fusion shotgun. Both have better range. Fusion does more of a cone instead of a line up. Machine shotgun. Heavy. Short range. Fusion rocket. Think heavy weapon like a nova bomb. Scoped hand cannon. Scout range. Explosive high caliber rounds. Slow fire. High stability. Thrown weapons. Special and heavy. Launchers. Special and heavy. Something with some kind of sticking weapon. Bolts blades or even needles. Causing bleed dot and or reduced armor til they drop off or are knocked off by friendly melee. Seriously. Saw blades or something. Pulse sniper? Probably pushing it but i loved the one in mass effect. Heavy sniper. Single shot. Decent reserve size. Gauss cannon or something. Mainly a pve boss murderer. Heavy shotgun. Flak cannon. Massive cone of shredded molten metal that pierces through enemies and causes a small ignite dot. Good range. Cone starts large shorter range but shrinks cone hoing longer range the longer trigger is held. (Thanks warframe)

How about a grenade launcher or a full auto fusion rife, or a special slot sheild that stops damage for two bullets a second so you can block sniper fire and actually counter snipers with out using another sniper?

What about a weapon that drops something like siva bombs. They can't be used in taking down a raid bosses shield but it drops a bomb and u throw it at stuff. And what you said a handheld mortar.

I had a new exotic special for each character. Titans got a machine pistol. 1350 rpm rate of fire, light damage, short range. Competition for Last Word or Lord of Wolves. Good for scout rifle users who wanted something for up-close and personal. Hunters got a blowgun. yes, a blowgun. It did minimal damage, but the dart was poisoned and did DoT. More to the point, you could fire it while invisible... and remain invisible. Warlocks actually got a bangle. Zero combat function whatsoever, but if you equipped it, remained still, and activated it, your melee would recharge at 5x normal speed.

SMGs under the Special slot, different archetype swords (or other heavy melee weapons), and dual weapons under the Special slot.

Both cool ideas, how about a grenade launcher who's projectiles work similarly to hammer of sol throwing, unsure if it should be secondary or heavy though.
