Hello, When downloading updates to PlayStation 4 consoles, previously downloaded content sometimes needs to be verified. If any issues are found, your platform will require the redownload of Destiny, and all previous updates. For additional information, please see our Downloading and Updating Destiny Guided Support.

 • If you still having issues, try these steps: 1. When downloading the update, give it a few mins if it gets stuck at 10%. It jumps quickly. 2. After the download is finished, put your ps4 in rest mode for a few mins to install. advice: whatever you do, dont pause/resume. It causes you to have to re-download the the update again from the beginning. In a post below, i documented my progress on installing the update in more detail, using the same steps. It worked for me and others, hope it works for you.

 • I had to re-download the entire 31. Furthermore it says it's version 1.29. Never had this issue before. Worked fine on my son's PS4. While this bites the head off a duck, I love the game. Thanks for making it.

 • In over two years of playing destiny something like this has never happened to me, not once. How is there a problem now? I shouldn't have to download the entirety of destiny again because of an error that clearly originates within patch 2.4.1. Data is not free and 31 gigabytes is going to put a massive dent in my Internet bill for the month. Furthermore I, like many other members of the destiny player base do not have the fastest download speed. My ps4 displays 99+ hours as the estimated completion time. So because of an error made by Bungie I may have to wait 5 or more DAYS to play content I first downloaded two years ago and have played without incident since then. This is an issue that should not be happening this far into the life of a game. I hope for the sake of future content patches are tested more thoroughly before being released to the player base.

 • LMFAO obviously you can't even send a patch out that is fully complete. BUNGIE what the heck are you even doing? Destiny 2 is not going to do well if this is how you handle coding and patches just an fyi

 • What issues would arise? You send out the download we download it. There shouldn't be any issues at all. I don't have a really solid Internet connection. This shit is literally gonna take me 3 days to download all this again!

 • I feel you bro, for some people 31 GB is a lot of waiting... that could've been avoided since the first destiny update. But no, Bungie ignored the complaints of precious cases.

 • Yeah, sure. I will download 51 Gb, which probably would take a day, providing I would not use my connection otherwise. Because a 500 Mb patch will not download due to a messed up patch system. Exactly the same thing happened with the last patch and it was not a messed up installation, it clearly was the patch. I had to delete another game, so I had 30 Gb of free HD space. This time and according to other players, the patch requires 50 Gb of free disc space to install what... 500 Mb? Ridiculous. I guess this is were I eventually stop playing Destiny for good, because I will neither delete another game, nor will I delete and re-download the whole thing again.

 • 18gb of hard disk space free is the recommended amount. I have 60gb free and still didn't have enough space for the update. Made 1gb of free space and it restarted the download only for it to be 31gb! Destiny is the only game I have this issue with

 • Tried this on my brothers PS4. Sam thing. It's not the patcher finding an issue. I'm sorry. It's your patching system, Bungie. Something is broken in the patch itself. I have three PlayStation 4's in my house (my brothers, and room mates, and fathers. They're all three doing this, plus hundreds of other people. Can you please tell us exactly what is going on instead of giving us a scripted response? Did you exceed the patching file size? If so and it's rebuilding the patch database, sweet, but I know only about 3 out of hundreds of people here complaining that they only had a 500-600MB patch. Means something is bad in the file deployment.

 • So basically you cuck up can't tell that people who have played the game consistently are verified and we get the short end of the stick? Oh well I'm used to that considering I'm a British player

 • They're amateur coders, the people that made bungie what it was back in the halo days no longer work there. Half of them now must have been coffee fetchers cuz they can't push out a single patch without breaking something in-game that they wait at least a few weeks to fix

 • And I'm stuck downloading a 31GB update after clearing the cache, restarting my console, then trying to update... I've come to expect nothing less of this game. I have to redownload the patch every time.

 • Funny that this only ever happens with bungie and destiny in my experience. Updated numerous games without needing 50+gb of space... except destiny.

 • I've been running into this issue as well only on PlayStation 4, however. I'm going to assume either Sony has issues on their side or Bungie's update's are bugged. Every time I've updated Destiny, it's been a full re-download. I'm pretty sure my fresh install on a new 2TB HDD is not the issue. I really think it's because of the shoddy patching system Bungie has or PlayStation. As much as I love this game, DOOM being a 65+ GB game on PS4 with all patches doesn't even do this to me. Only Destiny. Oh and I have many other big games that don't do this, except, guess what? Destiny.
