Watch coolguys video on pulse rifle range. You will be shocked at what you will see. Fast RoF pulses are broken and his video proves it.

  • Well, the fact that a grasp with hand laid, a range decreasing perk has more range than a hopscotch which according to the stats has tripled the range of grasp makes no sense at all.

  • Unfortunately in this game range means more than just range of damage.. it also means bloom size outside of effective range, accuracy.. Bungie does a dumb thing by cramming all of those things together, and it can be really misleading on to what to expect with range, especially with pulse rifles. In your mentioned example hopscotch with the further range will have a tighter cluster in it's shots, but the way damage fall off works on pulses, (being a long range weapon) you're not going to see damage fall off, but less shots register on the Grasp.. not saying there isn't a balance problem between the two archetypes, there is just a problem with how they balance it.
