And yet the # 2 , 3, and 8 spots belong to snipers. With the 2 and 3 spots JUST behind the # 1 spot

  • It just means those weapons in particular are strong with in that category but does not warrant an excessively hard nerf to the whole category of weapons. It shows that Bungie should stop being lazy with their changes in doing blanket nerfs to entire classes if there are just 2 or 3 snipers making up most of the kills for a weapon class. 1000 yard stare was one of the ones causing problems because the aim assist on particular snipers like that one was too high. The blanket nerfs effect the more challenging low aim assist snipers as well though, which means many snipers which were quite well balanced really in terms of skill requirement are the ones which have really suffered and you will see those stats with regards to 1000 yard stare increase within the sniper category but overall the sniper numbers will decrease and that is the real issue with balancing. The categories should have much tighter percentages to each other and they would if Bungie were to change individual weapons causing the most problems. They didn't need to go as far as they did with snipers in one fell swoop. All it needed really was to tone down aim assist on certain ones and you'd have seen a more healthy and stable change in the meta.

  • Hmm, snipers hold 3/10 slots. Shotguns hold 5/10, one being the #1 slot. If they just do a 10% damage increase to ALL primary's, the special meta will be solved. Nobody should be able to run through a hail of bullets just to slide-shoty like they think they are Rambo. Also, add a 1, maybe 2, second delay in ability/weapon use after a slide.

  • If they do a damage increase to primaries then the kill times would be too small for many players beyond the age of 8. We are talking going from 3 shots of a hand cannon or pulse rifle to just 2, (some hand cannons currently are being reported as 1 shotting with luck in the chamber on like the Palindrome so you can imagine how annoying it would be if we were to make the kill times even smaller). The other special weapons for the most part are balanced with each other though I would slightly improve snipers a little now since its very clear they were basically mutilated. The only thing that needs to change really is a 20% reduction to shotgun range and maybe a 5% reduction to juggernaut shield. Then we would see a more varied crucible than ever.

  • No, buff primary's. It will solve it. Right now you can walk through a primary weapons fire because it's either weak or has horrible accuracy. Just buff the acc/dmg and call it good. Simple, effective, problem solved. (Damage to some, accuracy to others) It will also fix this "Rush the enemy blindly" BS meta that been going on since the dawn destiny. Look at the game as a whole, you will realize that shotguns are one of the smallest issues out there right now. They have no counter other than another shotgun. Handcannons could do it, but Bungie screwed those up with RNG bullets at the launch of TTK. Again, look at the game as a whole, you will see shotguns are a byproduct of a larger issue.

    Primaries got nerfed because there was a point when the time to kill was way too short. One point in particular when Thorn was the entire meta pretty much and it was 2 shotting people making the kill times effectively less than 1 second. There is not going to be 1 magic change to balance the weapons completely. Buffing primaries will definitely not do it because what would the point in special be if primaries are then strong enough to be used in every situation? It would destroy the point in having the specialist weapons. It would also basically create another Thorn fest with a couple of weapons that will definitely be under 1 second kill time. Blanket buffs or nerfs arent the answer. Bungie need to do more to highlight the specific weapons causing balance issues. They just need to pull the reigns in on those sniper changes a little bit and reduce the range on shotguns. If they do that then it will bring the weapons more in line with the primaries and you wouldnt have to worry about your primary not killing before the person gets to you because they'd have an extra 2 metres to go before they get a 1 shot kill with shotty (Thats still pretty strong range considering the mobility in Destiny and the map design with so much clutter to hide behind and slide out from).
