I've been playing since year one. About the only significant change to shotguns was when they got rid of shot package. After that, they gave everyone an even stronger shotgun than before with rangefinder that pretty much countered the changes. The heaviest and most over the top one swoop nerf has definitely been with snipers and the stats clearly reflect the outcome of those changes. Shotguns have never had the one thing that caused the problem changed. They still have ridiculous range and the debate has raged from day 1 and into year 3 by many many people. Just because something has supposedly been "nerfed" a number of times doesnt mean the nerfs have been that heavy. As for telling me to do research. What do you think the damn chart is about? People like you are infuriating. Clearly everyone is using shotguns even over primaries, clearly there are reasons for that. Those reasons are, they are instakill, easy to aim and have a lot of range backed by very effective mobility mechanics like blink, slide and charging juggernauts which mean they take very little skill or strategic thought to get stronger results than any other weapon. With the map design and mobility options, the 1 shot damage drop off on shotguns should be at least 20% shorter than it is. Nobody can defend shotguns with any legitimacy when they are putting crucible in its current state. Anybody who does, is a person who is scared they might actually have to whip out their primary weapon and learn to aim and think.
