I think the last thing this game needs is even more microtransactions. Weapon shaders are something people have been asking for since day one. What they did here is exactly the same if they just up and decided to delete all shaders and start forcing you to pay for them.

  • You can still get them forvfree, if you wait for the RNG system to work. Which means that new shaders, Skins or Ornaments are free, with OPTIONAL microtransactions. You don't have to pay for them.

  • No they are not "free". A, waiting = time, time = work, work = money, waiting there for is equal to expense paid out and there for said content is not free. B, in order to make a purchase of said ornament, you have to have silver dust, not strange coins, not motes of light, silver dust. How do you get it? From breaking down ornaments that were intentionally designed to look like garbage. You get four "radiant treasures" a week. You would have to break them all down to afford just one, which means if you break down every ornament you got since rise of iron released, you should be able to afford /one/ of them this coming Friday. The only way to have gotten any of the ornaments up until then, is to have bought some ornaments, found them to be trash, and broken them down. C, this dlc cost 30 dollars. That was for a hand full of missions, literally the shortest dlc they've added, the artifacts, the weapons, and the ornaments were all paid for by that money. They are asking you to buy something you've already paid for. D, before you even say it. Bungie has specifically stated microtransactions do not pay for the live team to add additional content. They specifically stated that the two are totally unrelated and that the content being produced is being produced even if no one spends a dime on the microtransactions. They made an implication to a game journalism site, then stated "that site took liberties, we have no intent of ever offering free content, all "free seasonal events" are part of content that was already paid for. The thing about microtransactions paying for events like SRL and the halloween/valentines day events is provably not true. The last thing this game needs is more microtransactions. Hell that's the last thing the entire industry needs and I'm tired of people jumping through cognitive loops of logic to try and justify what is basically just throwing handfulls of cash at the screen for little to no gain. They want to sell us something. Let them sell us something. But throw this RNG thing in the garbage where it belongs.

  • Sounds like you need to lighten up a bit. All I did was post a creative idea, a recommendation, even and here you are trashing on it. This bull is the exact thing I never became an artist or creator. Because of people likebyou. I couldn't give a flying damn how pissed you arebabout the money involved in this. I had an idea and I put it out, sobif you are so displeasedvabout the economics behind it, set up a petition to change it instead of giving me hell for something I went out of my way to come up with. Good day to you, fellow Guardian.

  • Oh. It's a lovely idea. Get them to get rid of microtransactions and I'm all for it. And as for people "like me". People like me are the people who gave Bungie and Activision hell for gutting the story line and most of the creative development out of this game because it would get in the way of their marketing direction. See. I want for them to pursue Ideas like the one you had. I long for them to. I even actively lobby for them to. But they won't, because their only interest is making more money, not making this game better. I want them to get rid of the idea of microtransactions, and embrace the idea of making this game the best it can be, artistically, and in content. Hell. You know what I would love? A market place where players can design their own weapons within certain constraints, apply their own color pallets, projectile effects, glow maps, and sell them to other guardians, allowing for fan generated content, kinda like the mod system you see in most Bethesda games which actively encourage fan generated content. I think that would be awesome. But the system they have here needs to die before something like that could ever happen. Which. It won't.
