Trials has gone downhill
So ever since RoI came out Iv been trying my hand at trials and my god has it gotten terrible since year one. Back in the day you actually had a chance and things felt balanced. Sure it was a challenge but it was definitly do-able. Now going into Y3 we have cheaters, laggers, and well...Im not certain what to call the 3rd group but they do something to cause the other team to lag out and force a win. Similar to blue screening back in Halo 2 if anyones familiar with that. And not only that but it feels like people who put in requests in the recruiting section because they dont have friends who play trials (such as myself) even those who do the usual "must have 1600+ ello, 386, done flawless" etc but even with these requirements people claim this stuff but it seems like they say this stuff out of desperation to try and get a team. I got grouped with a guy earlier who claimed he could hold his own and was a 355 or so but he always seemed to die 1st and had the least kills from what I could see. Was a good guy yes but why would you lie about "holding your own" when you clearly cant.
Sorry got carried away there. Anyways next we have the "streamers". The ones who have already gone flawless multiple times, gets views for doing so, takes other people to go flawless and carry them, and then they charge a ton of money. If youv gone flawless once ok great switch to a different character and do it again but once you surpass 3 characters its kind of a slap in the face for those who cant do it at all. If you want to help others out thats fine but why in the world would you charge for it. And to those actually paying to go flawless sure you get the armor but do you not have any shame? If your actually trying to help then fine its your money but to thise who pay and just sit there waiting for the match to be over you dont even deserve the gear you get from the light house let alone from the card you ran with. Work for the gear or get out of here.
My main point here is Trials has become less of a great/fun/challenging experience into more of a money grabber/rage induced/impossible crucible gametype.

1 ReplyI actually got flawless with 2 buddies of mine recently was pretty fun despite the issues as far as the lagging out a player thing that happened to me on quite afew attempts i would like to assume no q was cheating but it only happened to me it wasnt my internet cause i remained connected to psn and to my friends in the party i was also the highest light level in the group i would like to not have to play but i didnt get that damn trials helmet from the chest and i want it :/

1 Replyyeah, Trials flawless was always going to cause problems in the game. Thats why so many people are cheating in the endgame events these days. People want the emblem for flawless and the good gear that goes with it. Also not locking out players who have already run it on that character was just made for streamers to abuse

5 RepliesEdited by MistaBonBon: 10/9/2016 10:06:03 AMIt's not just been total bull since RoI's launch. Ever since Taken King and the Y2 Trials changes the whole thing's just been horrible. I was able to go flawless plenty of times back before the Y2 changes to matchmaking in Trials. Everything did indeed feel balanced. I didn't get worse at the game since Taken King dropped, I've not improved a whole lot either though, but I've been playing relatively as good as I did way back then. But come the Y2 changes, I've not been able to go flawless even once during all of Taken King and now into Rise of Iron. I don't know about you, but I really want to go to the lighthouse again. It was my favorite social space out of all of them. I would go there and just sit for a while whenever I was waiting on some friends or taking a short break. I want to go there again so badly but I can't. Either I'm starting a brand new card and I get matched against a team that's anywhere from three wins away from flawless to needing one more win to go flawless, or every game we get into has people lagging on the enemy team. Trials just pisses me off more than anything anymore.

1 ReplyI just play it to help out mates and ruin people's runs. As a squeaker I get kicked a lot even though I have good stats. It gets on my nerves so I destroy people in trials to cheer me up

3 RepliesI'll carry anyone on Xbox free of charge. I've been able to successfully carry 75% of the people I've tried to. 1.8 trials KD. One of my friends and I will take anyone. MSG or comment and let me know, I'm a pretty nice guy.

A lot of the streamers, and carriers get 7 wins, then get a new card. They wait until the last day to get their flawless runs done. As far as charging for carries... It's not going to change because a lot of them offer carries for money through other websites like eBay, their twitch, or their personal website. I don't agree with it. Bungie doesn't investigate these sources, so it continues to happen. Destiny isn't the only game that people pay others for gear, leveling, or services. But, I don't think it's right, or condone it. I personally find it to be a big issue in the gaming industry. I play Neverwinter quite a bit, and people there charge for power leveling, gear, and carries through dungeons and boss fights. Bungie is in part to blame for this happening in Destiny. The other part is the people that pay for these services. Bungie is to blame for letting it happen, and the people paying are to blame for actually paying for it. If people wouldn't for it, then it wouldn't be happening. If Bungie would actually investigate it, shut those people down, and give perma-bans, then it wouldn't happen. Not to mention, those people could possibly get a perma-ban from PSN or XBL. The issue isn't just the people doing this, or the developers. The gaming industry in general is also to blame. People are too blame too. The people that talk down to others because of their kd, or lack of a piece of gear, or lack of an emblem are also part of the force that causes people to pay for certain things. Granted, the people that pay are the people that make the final decision. Some people are easily persuaded into paying.

I've even witnessed this kind of scummery in year one, [i]One dude[/i] charging people $10 for VoG runs. Unbelievable! Edit: And honestly, the best way to fix trials is to disable all abilities (except jumps) and make it primary only. Or just disable all abilities and leave it at that.

5 RepliesI've lost all interested in trials because it's just running rampant with Bladedancers with Vows and storm caller with 30 foot melee. It's not even a competitive game mode anymore it's just what your abilities are now.

Trials is not as bad as u say, idk if ur just looking for something to complain about or if u have the worst luck in history n happen to find these "cheaters" alot
