"But not forgotten", a sniper I just got that is going to mean a lot to me

I was playing Archon's forge to think about something else, because my great-grandmother died today (she was age 92 if you were wondering) and my first legendary drop was this sniper. I don't know if it was a message from heaven or something because this weapon name ("But not forgotten") and description ("Not even the dead are truly gone.") really fits with what happened to me today. She is gone, but she will never be forgotten in my heart, RIP my great grandmother, this weapon is going to represent you to me, a memory of who you were. Thanks a lot Bungie for creating a beautiful and unique sniper that you probably didn't expect someone to give it such a significance to it. Coincidences can make really beautiful things, and today, it proved to me that it can happen. TL;DR I got a sniper that really fits with the death of a relative of mine. RIP to my grand-grandmother.
If you want to cheer me up, go ahead, I really want this community to stick together and help eachother in the moments where it matters the most, also, this isn't a post where I just wrote just so I get your empathy to me, as I said, I just wanted to talk about what this weapon is going to mean to me.
Edit: Added the description of the weapon and fixed a typo. Edit #2: Thanks for the support, you've been giving to me, it's not really easy to me right now and it makes me happy to see all of you caring about a fellow guardian. I wasn't expecting much about it tbh. I will add a clarification as for why I used the word "heaven" in the text, it is because of the religious belief of her and I respect what she believed in, if it was any other religion, I would've used the word representing a "good place after one's life" for the proper religion of said person. Edit #3: Over 500 replies! Wow, that's just amazing, it makes me feel better to know that you can care about something like this so much. I thank each and everyone of you who replied with a positive comment. I hope this story will make you think how deep connections can happen, and to everyone living in a situation similar to me, I say "Keep your head up and stay stong, even with what you're living through.". Finally, it makes me happy to know that some people pretty much gave this weapon a significance close to mine, in honor of a close relative who passed away recently. Edit #4 (probably last one): Over 1000 replies! I never thought it would go up that high, I'm used to normally 10 or so replies maximum, but this, this is just amazing! Thank you again for the support you've been giving me, it really makes a difference and I'm happy to know that you do help me, even though we don't even know eachother at all. That's what's awesome about this community.

  • Dude same thing happened to me! I was raiding with my girlfriend and she died on Deathsinger checkpoint so I went to give her a kiss and tell her it was okay. She rejected the kiss because she said my breath smelled like shit. :( We killed the Deathsinger and guess what weapon dropped. Ice Breaker! It was a message from the gods above. LUL kek xddd

        • I'm sorry for your loss. Don't listen to the jaded trolls trying to belittle your memory or what you wanted to share. Life experience is entirely subjective and no other person can know your perspective, not truly. The people attacking the religious aspect of what you are trying to express are simply heartless, and should be ashamed. Even if you have fabricated this entire story, the concept itself deserves some appreciation. I would like to hope there is still some decency left in this world. I am not religious. That does not mean that I can act without consequence. We all live in this world together and if we cannot grant even the simplest compassion to one of our peers then we are irredeemable. The smirk you gain by posting a negative comment, whatever shallow enjoyment received, it will make you hollow. You will lose all substance and meaning. If you don't already hate yourself, you will grow to. That smirk will become a curled lip of disgust and you will have lost yourself. Even now you are scoffing at the truth. I pity you, your eyes are closed.

          • To every edgelord saying unsupportive things like "you shouldn't believe in random signs idiot" etc. You need to show some damn respect, someone this person loved died and this item in game was helping them, giving them closure with the random event that happened, a sign from the heavens to help op move on and continue with life. Listen this happened to a friend of mine recently and you have no idea about the effect it has on someone, so it doesn't help when edgelords go attacking him for believing in signs to impress their edgelord friends Tl:dr : IM TRIGGERED

            • People only truly die if they are forgotten. She may be physically gone but lives inside of your heart. My grandmother died 5 years ago. I wanted to visit her the day before she died but I was shy and didn't raise my voice. 5 years later I still cry over her and regret not seeing her 1 last time. Life can be a bitch but memories are what keep the good times going

            • Thank you so much for sharing this. (Please don't take to heart the OPINIONS of some they are only out to cause harm) Almost a year ago I lost my Father. He was hit by a truck while standing on the soft shoulder of a busy highway trying to remove some large pieces of trash off of the road. He was trying to save lives and while doing so he lost his. He hung on for a little while, about a week. But he passed the day before Thanksgiving. I was able to say goodbye. He took his last few breaths while I held his hand. I understand what it feels like to loose someone. I understand the need to find comfort. I would love to get my hands on that rifle! Just to have a little something there to make me think about my Dad. Keep your head up. And keep playing
