The enemies of halo and destiny are very different.

After a good long while of learning about the destiny enemies I feel the need to re-open the case of "destiny enemies=halo enemies." I say the enemies of halo have very little resemblance to the enemies of destiny aside from the fallen. I'll explain why. I'm going to go through appearances and goals and compare the two to show you they don't match as much as you think. Let's begin with the vex and the forerunners.
The vex are Radiolaria jammed up in mechanical bodies. Their ultimate goal is to create an emperor of all outcomes and weave themselves into reality itself. They want to be the ultimate power of the past present and future. They have no personality, are normally very hostile, and only act in accordance to an axis mind. They have no need for a civilization. The forerunners were a powerful space fairing civilization with individuals that had their own personalities and free will. They wished to uphold the mantle of responsibility and ensure the galaxy remain at peace. (That is, of course, until the flood came around and they had to cleanse the galaxy with the halo rings, and ensure the mantle of responsibility was passed on) The vex generally look like dirty robots. The forerunners had shinny gear.
Look very different and have very different goals. Next, hive and flood.
The hive are a race of krill people that was very weak and lived very short lives. Then Oryx and his sisters made a pact with the worm gods which were beings of the darkness that could give Oryx and his sisters power. They set out after the traveler to consume it and all the rest of the light. Above all they plan to cut the universe into the perfect shape by killing all those who are weak. To ensure everyone's worms were fed Oryx created a tithing system that lines up the hive hierarchy. Each individual of the hive has its own thoughts and it's own "free will". The flood is basically a plague that seeks to infect all sentient life and collect all the knowledge they can. Why? I don't know. Once an organism is absorbed it loses all of it's free will and thought. The flood eventually creates a grave mind which is a sort of hive mind for the flood. It then dictates what the flood does. The hive normally has a bone/chitin look to its armor and architecture. The flood has a fleshy look to itself and its "architecture".
Look different and have different goals. Cabal and brutes. (I can already hear you screaming)
the cabal is a heavily militarized race. They have free thought (not really free will. They can do what they want but they'd probably be punished very hard.) The cabal's one goal is to finish the war, plain and simple. They do study the vex and hive and try to find a way to permanently kill a guardian from them. And with a recent bit of speculation, the cabal may not be religious. The brutes are (as the name entails) brutish. They used to serve the prophets and the covenant to complete "the journey" which was supposed to make them all powerful but would have actually fired off all the halo rings again and killed everybody. With the destruction of the covenant, they now have rather scattered goals as a species and aren't as powerful as the used to be. The cabal are large with little hair. They have no exposed skin. (Likely for easier deployment to different kinds of worlds). The brutes look like gorillas but a little taller.
look very different and different goals (even though they don't have much for goals in comparison to the last two.) Now the fallen and Elites. They are the only two that are relatively the same, but still fairly different.
The fallen was a society much like ours but held honor and discipline close. There was also the division of "houses". (Not in a bad way, it's speculated the houses back in the day may have simply shown where you stood in society. Ex:Kings=royalty/rulers.) But now they are a shatter society that, though yes they still hold discipline (and maybe honor) close, they act more like pirates. They scavenge things to stay alive and praise their servitors. They hold the highest praise for their godly servitors (the prime servitors). Why? They require an ether flow to live and grow, and the servitors control that ether. Their main goal as of right now is to simply rise again. They plan to reclaim the traveler (the great machine) and rebuild their golden age. The elites are also a species of honor and discipline. They, however, didn't suffer a collapse like the fallen did. The elites are basically the golden age fallen. The difference however is that the elites don't praise machine gods, don't need ether, and aren't divided into houses. Now the elites work to put down the last remnants of the covenant. (Unless they finished doing that in halo 5. Can't fully remember.) The fallen and elites undeniably look similar, but there is the distinct four arms that most of the fallen have and none of the elites can grow as big as archons or kells. But what this may be is bungie paying a little homage to their old halo franchise. Nothing wrong with that, right? ツ
Different goals but similar appearances. I hope you learned a little more about destiny and halo from this, and hopefully I have convinced you that the enemies of these two games are very different. Thank you for your time.
