So now that we have private matchmaking and Bungie/MLG are showing interest in promoting Destiny as a competitive shooter (yes, I'm aware there are many additional changes before this could occur), I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are about where Trials now fits into Destiny?
Originally Trials was seen as the PvP end game activity, but does the addition of private matches and tournaments somewhat change it's place in the game now? Objectively Trials Gear is primarily cosmetic, offering no real combat advantages with the small exception of the intrinsic Last Resort perk on adept weapons. As such would there be harm in adjusting Trials matchmaking or adding the much discussed tiered system into Trials to lower the difficulty for some of the less skilled players?
Personally I would be in favor of some adjustment which might lower the barriers to entry into Trials for newer players due to the steep learning curve. I'll also openly state that I have never gone flawless in Trials, due in part to the fact that I'm an older player who can't keep up with the reflexes required for this game type, but also because I find the slow pace of elimination boring. Just interested in hearing what everyone thinks about Trials place in the game now that private matchmaking is a thing.

Just want to point out how ridiculous our community is that we down-vote a poll encouraging open discussion on a topic just because we don't like the possible response. Priceless.
