This pre-dlc period seriously let me down.
[spoiler]This is a rant written by a frustrated player, any offense to anyone is not intended to be in the post[/spoiler]
Hello everyone, as the title says I am disagreeing with Bungie on how the pre-dlc days should be.
Do you remember when a week before House of Wolves fallen wolves started hunting for preys ? That was something [u]in the game's universe[/u] that let us know something bigger was going to happen.
In my opinion giving us something dlc related before it could create more hype to the new story/charecters/locations.
When HoW released I thought " Whoa, all those fallen that were hunting out there reunited under a single banner ! ". I [u]wanted[/u] to know who they were, and the story behind them even before the dlc came out. I knew at least that fallen were involved.
Now I am 100% sure what my thought will be on the 20th:
" Hey, a place I have never ever heard of before needs to be cleaned from Fallen ! Better go and check ! "
" How there are so many infected fallen yet I haven't seen any until now ? "
" Why did the taken suddendly stopped appearing, but have kept doing so for 11 months after their king was killed and taken's remains were extinguished ? ".
The point is, right now there is nothing that makes me want to play Rise of Iron. I am not wondering why something is there, or why am I doing certain things. I will play it, but I am not waiting for the 20th like I did for HoW and TTK.
And I admit it, I am SERIOUSLY -blam!-ING PISSED that they added Private Matches instead of something dlc related. This, at least for me, is the demonstration of how Bungie is slowly reworking Destiny into a PvP related game.
TL;DR I feel let down by Bungie because they added Private Matches instead of an event that could have possibly emphasized the dlc story/characters/locations.

If destiny is turning into a PvP only game then Im all for it. PvP in destiny is fun and i really enjoy it. [spoiler]Just my opinion [/spoiler]

Totally agree! All this the community wanted private matches is balls, there is a split community here - PVE and PVP, the PVP wanted private matches maybe, the PVE and myself included really couldn't give I damn. I'd rather a good story and a nice build up to it. Loved the HoW ones, the Taken invading. Moving the story on with a siva world event would be so much better.

It's a week. 1 week. I can understand you don't enjoy the spoilers they gave you early. But it's 1 week. I wouldn't want them to give us anything that will take away from the big release of everything at once. I'm glad they did just private matches.

This expansion is so small that there isn't really anything to give us early because if they did then we'd feel so bored when the dlc releases. Remember, when ROI drops we won't have the raid or trials, so it'll be some story and a strike, a crucible mode then grinding for new exotics. That's about it.

I mean I would have rather had a new encounter with splicers than private matches but it's not really that big of a deal lol

Mainly a PvE player here. I understand your frustrations. Trust me. Sick and tired of everything being PvP shit. But it's something I've learnt to live with. At times I question what bungie is trying to push. If the PvP is balanced and doesn't revolve around seasons of "Meta", ok, fine. Push it. Connection is shit. Balance is shit. And yet PvP gets the limelight. I'm not trying to throw shade on PvP. I'm just trying to say PvE players will [u]always[/u] get the short end of the stick. Nerfs are mostly due to PvP that will make a particular weapon type redundant in PvE. Love this game too much to let it bring me down. So, chin up Guardian. :)

Yeah its a pretty poor effort. Particularly as they only launched private matches when they did so they could make a big song and dance about the stream.
