Iron banner bounties have been removed
I purposely saved brown and green bounties for the past 3 IB to turn in.
If you guys were planning on removing them, it would have been nice to know ahead of time so I could get the marks at least.

There gone, plain and simple. And I think it was purely intentional of them not to inform the community. They see hoarding bounties to gain an advantage on hitting 385 quickly to access raid/endgame content as an exploit. And really who can blame them to think that way. They give us new content and they want us to experience RoI as it was intended. And that is to grind away week to week. I don't understand why everyone didn't see this coming even from TTK release. Does it suck they didn't inform you? In a way, yes. But did they have to? Not at all. You sign user agreements and if you understand that. Its their product and they can alter the experience as they see fit. Bitching and whining about something you have no control over isn't going to grab the whiteknight Cozmo's attention to come to your and everybody else's aid and ask the devs to return it to you. But keep beating that dead horse, This thread isn't going to change their minds.

Are you surprised? Bungie's not capable of putting out a patch that doesn't break something. These bounties vanish and folks are having issues with their menus and hud.

7 RepliesEveryone that has lost bounties and are crying about it are just mad because they lost their exploit for the new DLC and won't have the upper hand on release. Was it shitty bungie didn't say anything before hand? yes. Honestly you should have just turned them in to begin with, why do you want to plow through the new content and be done like in 2 days. You should want to start from nothing and earn everything like Bungie has intended. Makes the game more enjoyable and you will feel better after you actually earn the gear the right way, not through some cheeky exploit. At this point the [b]ONLY[/b] thing Bungie owes you is an apology nothing more nothing less. Plus I bet the new Iron Banner event is 10x better and the bounties are restructured to give you better loot.

9 RepliesLet's be honest guys. Stop telling that you 'Worked Hard" in IB and Trials to finish those bounties. Because you didn't. Kill 50 people with primary, 25 with special and 7 with heavy isn't hard. Absolutley not. If it is hard for you, then you have a very big lack of skill... I don't even know what you are doing in PvP if completing 13 matches is hard for you. There is only 1 bounty that can be hard.

Actually looking at the video, at the 15 min 45 second mark, they are clearly talking about regular bounties and regular quests. There is no confirmation in this video that Iron Banner bounties would remain after the update. Hoarding such things is a gamble. Sometimes you win on gambles (engram hoarders look like they're going to be paid off nicely). Sometimes you lose on gambles. You all won't get an extra 225 marks to spend after RoI. I understand a certain level of whining and complaining, no one likes to lose when they gamble. But it's not Bungie's responsibility to make sure every single one of your gambles pay off. You're just acting like spoiled brat children. Who knows, most of you noisy ones likely are children, so what can be expected anyway, right?

27 RepliesIt really, really bugs me that you're upset about this. You were blatantly cutting a corner that leads to some of the better weapons and armor in the game. You tried to use a loophole to get a head start. Iron banner is competitive play so the notion of corner-cutting is something the community finds extra shady. Then to make sure you're being extra lame, you decide that you're the one who has been dealt with unjustly?Not cool.

The issue isn't so much getting those marks back, yeah that's easy... and so is reaching rank 5 in IB, but we saved those bounties because turning them in would have been useless a few weeks ago (at least for me) Plus, you never know if the thorn and/or gally bounties might have a step which requires you to reach rank 5 in IB... or any other quest for that matter. People were saving those bounties as preparation for the DLC, and as a potential quicker way to level up. Getting blindsided like that isn't cool... but yeah, not that big a deal

16 RepliesI spend about 120 marks a week on materials I'm hoarding for RoI. I do the Dailies (Crucible and Story) and the Weeklies (Crucible and Prison of Elders). I recently bought the New Monarchy shotgun so I could get rid of In Times of Need, and was down to 15 Legendary Marks. I'm up to 185 again about 4 days later. There's no reason anyone who hoarded their Iron Banner bounties can't get up to 200 Legendary Marks before Rise of Iron. The damage done here is really minimal. Not worth all the salt and vinegar being expended over it.

Honestly.... does it ACTUALLY matter? Oh no... instead of having to complete the bounties I'll have completed them and can turn them all in on day 2 of the next IB to jump to rank 2... does it really, really matter? You're going to play anyway, you're going to do things you would do for bounties anyway. But no.... something might be quicker if I keep the bounties and I can use them and all the new ones... Maybe that's why they got rid of them.

1 ReplyI am sure Bungie made this decision after looking at the stats collected from the player base on how they use of in-game features. Just like they did for weapon nerfs. My only doubt is that they probably looked at the stats of some other game...
