I purposely saved brown and green bounties for the past 3 IB to turn in.
If you guys were planning on removing them, it would have been nice to know ahead of time so I could get the marks at least.
Not happy.....not happy

I just want it noted that this went exactly how I predicted. We all bitched and complained. Bungie remained silent as to why it was removed and why we weren't given prior warning. The masses fumed and seethed and Bungie remained quiet. Eventually we all "got over it" and Bungie chalks it up as a win. Seriously, -blam!- you guys.

Edited by ironBill: 9/10/2016 11:44:27 AMFor the record, and for the naysayers who say this was an accident, posts of known issues elsewhere in the forum clearly show the removal of the bounties was intentional in advance of changes to Iron Banner. Speaking for myself, I'm not really upset about losing the marks - they aren't that difficult to replace. However, it could just as easily have been something I did care about, and the flippant way this business was conducted shows a lack of regard for the customers. The reason people have learned to hold onto things from one DLC to another is because of the dearth of information Bungie releases about anything coming to us. They want to dangle content in front of us, work us up, so they are never too specific before something drops. They *WANT* us to speculate wildly. They *WANT* us to engage in spirited debate about what is coming. They don't care if we are right or wrong, they just want us to talk about it. They want the buzz. There would never have been any confusion about this if Bungie had been specific about the Iron Banner changes. Their comments have been limited more to what wouldn't happen than to what would. They said the incremental daily buff would be going away. They said bounties would be different. No specifics. We've been burned by this before. I wonder how many people wish they'd kept that first set of armor from VoG when HoW dropped and we found out all old armor could be infused! And what about weapons? I had a Shadow Price I wish I'd kept, I know that! What about materials that were exchanged for rep or rank? The list goes on and on. If we had all deleted our extra bounties like some armchair quarterbacks have suggested, there's a fair chance (and history shows us this) it would have bitten us. I felt like it was wiser to just hang onto them and see what happened. I had nothing to lose - either they would be useful or they would not. And then we come to the real problem. It's almost two weeks before the drop of RoI, and Bungie does a huge download in preparation. They told us that. What they didn't tell us is they would be taking those bounties from us. This is the inexcusable part. What possible harm could there have been to simply post, "Hey, if you have any remaining bounties, cash them in - they won't work in RoI!" Problem solved, crisis averted. But no, that's not how it went, did it? No, Bungie decided to just pull the trigger. Rather than use their outlet of information here on the forums, we just get a "surprise". I don't care what side of the fence you're on, the "You should have known better" or the "You never know with Bungie", you can't dismiss this one point; they knew in advance what this patch would do and did not tell us. This cannot be explained away, parsed, or excused. I don't care about the marks, let me be clear. I care about the communication, or lack thereof. I care that things I have spent time accumulating get jerked from me without warning. I care that Bungie continues to blunder along this PR path, making unforced errors that are truthfully rooted in their disregard for the time players invest. They want us to be invested players. They structure the game for invested players. They want people to care. Then when something like this happens they and their surrogates come back with "It's only a game".

I've ranked up at a few venders and got empty packages, don't rank up people! Wait! For RoI or even a bit after that. Lol I can't play next week because I'm edging everything now, it's this a bad idea?
-
That really suckS
-
That sucks. I had them saved also.
-
3rd page of trending now. Won't be long before Bungie can poke their head out of their shell as if nothing ever happened.
-
Almost 250. Incredible :)

Edited by Kone19ps: 9/10/2016 8:20:32 PMSo happy this is still going. Just apologize bungie that's all we want. And not another repeat of the terrible communication. If your staff is really playing this game I can't believe no one saved a bounty without knowing what we obviously weren't told clearly.
-
Oh, look. This post has fallen off the front page of trending. It's only a matter of time before the sheep forget this ever happened and Bungie can move on down the road none worse for the wear. And we're supposed to line up and preorder from a company that doesn't really give a shit about being duplicitous and will do so bold faced and indifferent.
-
Yeah, I think they dropped the ball. We atleast got a heads up last time when TTK was released. I remember them posting exactly what was going to leave and what was staying on the site. I feel like they been too busy with the games con, PAX, and the such. That's all I've seen posted recently.
-
Bump. This is a real lack of respect for their players. No IB bounties going forward to ROI? Why not just tell players in advance. Those bounties represent actual hours playing the game.
-
there will be an artifact to get them back for only 77$
-
I understand that they were removed because of new changes. But it was the complete lack of communication by bungie that pisses me off. I would have gladly used them last IB and cashed them in for rewards and marks for materials. This whole ninja BS just creates a very sour fan base. Once people hit the ceiling a couple of months from now, they will be quick to leave the game for a while in distain of Bungie.
-
Huh, weird. Still no reply from Bungie. Just the same bullshit posts on Twitter and their Help forums. No word about any compensation or even an acknowledgement about -blam!-ing up the communication. We all know what's going to happen. Bungie will maintain the status quo and the player outrage will cease over time until it's all a distant memory. Bungie wins. Is this place being run by a bunch of nerds with no interpersonal skills? Do they not have a PR department? Or do they know that they've got so many in this community wrapped around their little finger that they can pull shit like this and get away with it mostly unscathed? On second thought, there are so many Bungie robots around here it really doesn't surprise me that they will find a way to justify this shit.
-
I don't get it. I mean I lost my bounties too, but I used them to get ahead in the next IB. As far as the marks are concerned I've had 200 in my inventory for weeks. What in the world are people spending marks on at this point in the current game. There is absolutely nothing I want from any vendor at this time. The things I want/need are random drops only.
-
Ok, so yeah, bungie pulled a fast one people lost legendary marks. People are mad I get it. But hey, we all woke up this morning without dirt in our eyes. There are ways to get legendary marks back. That's what I see most people are mad about. I lost bounties as well, and yeah I'm upset that bungie didn't make this known. But life goes on and this game goes on. Let's all put our big boy undies on and move past this.
-
But I still have my medallions. Very odd.
-
A simple apology from Bungie admitting they should have given us a heads up to spend them is all I ask. They know we hang on to bounties like that as a source of marks if there isn't anything we need. There's no excuse for them not giving us notice, except they don't give a flying monkey about us. Bad move, bungie. We were already under the impression you don't really give a -blam!- about us and now we know for sure.
-
Sucka!
