I really hope the Gunsmith starts selling new weapons come Rise of Iron
Not that his current inventory should be replaced for people still interested in them...
But for the rest of us Armsday veterans that have been buying his stuff for the past year, it would be really nice to see him sell new weapons. Finding new guns with good new perk combinations... that's the fun and magic of Destiny, right?
For example: why doesn't Banshee sell a sidearm? He should totally sell something in the Vestian Dynasty/Queen's Choice archetype.
What about a machine gun? There's a few types to work with, but I would love to see new Armsday MGs in the underrated Bane of the Taken and Zombie Apocalypse archetypes.
I heard the MIDA archetype is coming back for legendaries. One of them should totally be available from the Gunsmith. And then you have other things like a new high impact sniper (one with good stats for PVP) and a new shotgun in the Party Crasher archetype. A pulse rifle in the same class as Grasp of Malok. A different option for high impact auto rifles and a different fusion rifle.
These are just simple ideas I had. I'm sure there's more. The point is these seem like easy additions that would add a lot to Armsday and the hardcore fans that participate in it every week!

The gunsmith [u]will[/u] have new weapons, but you will only be able to get them from his packages. Order weapons will remain the same.

Even if Bungie doesn't have new Gunsmith weapons at release, it should still be something they should add in the future. They could take some of the new ROI legendaries and change the stats a little bit. The perk options could be the same. Change the color, name, and flavor text. And there you go... "new weapons" that people will enjoy customizing. It's a worthwhile investment. Let's show Bungie that this is something we want!

Like sell scopes - opens a legendary weapon kiosk (where all guns you have unlocked are stored) brings back reforge << allowing custom skins and writing on the guns. Adding a tally to the side of weapons showing trials 9-0 wins or something fun? SELL WHITE BLANK SCHEMATICS - so we can make outlet own legendary class weapons and name them. One perk becomes blue - two becomes legendary. Adding scopes and names / full customization. Add different archetypes so we can have a grasp type - messenger type ect for all weapons. Have him do SOMETHING useful!! Better arms day rolls? More arms day quests. Custom sword handles? Custom skins and colours on swords. More melee weapons !!!

Build your own weapons. Add skins. Having the ability to add elements. A firing range. The stupid test weapons Bungie made are a joke. Make test weapons that work in this game. Having the option to add perks. Bungie limits there vendors making them pointless in this game. Maybe someday Bungie will wake up and realizes it's the 21st century.

Watch the Game Informer Q&A podcast released yesterday. Bungie confirmed that the gunsmith weapons will be brought up to RoI light levels, but the weapons will stay the same.

I believe they are adding a new foundry with RoI, but it's hard to find confirmation, and Bungie employees didn't confirm any changes besides Light level increases on a recent Game Informer podcast.
