Except that going down into a raid and then people joining as they are ready so you're building supers is common practice and if someone is kicked they could be replaced with someone you can't kick. Not to mention matchmaking doesn't work because of checkpoints.

But with the option to join a matchmade raid wad just that, an option,this wouldn't be an issue

Because not only does it still not work because of check points but there won't be optional matchmaking in destiny for pve. They don't care to even try to make it happen.
