People would most likely just shoot their mags empty up until the last ~20 bullets before going into combat, I would suggest the exotic perk works the longer it is fired, what would render it mediocre in pvp but a beast for pve.

How about this: Missed shots in a row reduce the effects of the exotic perk.

Then there wouldn't be a real use for the huge mag, would there? But your idea can be combined with mine pretty well, ai think.

Maybe it should have a cooldown, the longer you don't fight someone, the more the exotic perk effect decreases. Be like Rambo

Unless your playing mayhem you'll probably take out one target and might have trouble finding another. The decrease would have to be minor to compensate between time killing and time finding an enemy.
