I'm actually thinking that rasputen is going to be the end raid boss for ROI it's definitely a wild theory but the saber strike is how the fallen learned the location of siva wich in the trailer looks to be in a rasputen vault and the gost said someone has been watching over rasputen for a long time posibly efferdete with siva the fallen could take control of rasputen turning it in to there machine god and the destruction of rasputen would be a great setup for destiny 2

While Bungie definitely has a few themes they like to toy with I'm not sure they will follow Halo's ideas so closely. Bungie has played a lot with the ideas of AI who loose the plot when confronted with their own mortality, and the vastness of the universe. Loose parallels can be drawn between Ogier the Dane and the Protagonist of Marathon (chiefly that Ogier's sword was named Durandal, and some of the story elements appear to have similarities). Master Chief and Cortana seem to share similarities with Roland and his sword (Cotana). The two AI share rampant as a thread, and the sword she is named named after is said to be inscribe with the words "of the same steel and temper as Durandal". Where that gets interesting with respect to Destiny is that Ogier and Roland fought for Charlemagne in the Dark Ages. Charlemagne, historically, helped bring Europe out of the dark ages and is generally credited as being the father of Europe. Charlemagne had a sword as well, it was named Joyeuse, some legends surrounding Joyeuse suggest that it was made from the Spear of Destiny. What does all this mean for the game? Who knows. It seems like these characters from history were used as vague departure points. Many of the parallels have been shoehorned in, others are pretty straight foreward but don't seem to be anything more than just interesting, and some might simply be coincidental. All that being said, we are coming out of a dark age, and there is a character named Charlemagne. Will he unite us and help, will there be something or someone named Joyeuse? On a lark I thought I'd see if Siva happened to mean happy (that's what Joyeuse means in French). I didn't find a link to joy or happiness but I did find this. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Siva Siva seems to be another spelling or pronunciation of the Hindu God Shiva's name, and says this about her: "(Hinduism) Hinduism the destroyer, one of the three chief divinities of the later Hindu pantheon, the other two being Brahma and Vishnu. Siva is also the god presiding over personal destinies". Make if that what you will.

Warminds were just AI's that were created to oversee planetary administration and defence. Rasputin was the highest ranking AI and oversaw the defences of the solar system too. The eyes referenced will likely be those of the Exo Stranger, who can step through time. She is probably the one who reactivated Rasputin. At one point he talks to the Exo, asking if it will teach him the ability to step through time. It's possible that Cayde could be involved with the Exo Stranger. The consensus is that it's likely to be Maya Sunderash. Cayde once worked with Maya before the collapse, though he didn't think she had really noticed him.

Rasputin shut himself down before the collapse in order to survive. He hoped for somebody to reactive him later on which is where you go in and contact Rasputin in the mission, "The Warmind." Also, the Exos couldn't have accessed Rasputin because well, Exos don't have eyes. Its possible that the eyes were preserved though, as said in the mission. But no. Rasputin is not a super weapon with the ability to destroy all sentient life within 25,000 light-years from the galactic center. I'm a Halo fan myself.

Think of Rasputin as Cortana, a Cortana that controls weapons of mass destruction, computers and possible orbital platforms on several planets. Like a Cortana that would control Reach, Earth, Sigma Octanus IV, etc. defense weapons.
