Raid requirements - What are people looking for?

So I'm wondering what the community thinks the average player should have before attempting a raid like Normal Kings Fall. As in what kind of light level or specific weapon types etc? And maybe watch a video or read something on the encounters? Last raid I did was VoG, looking to do Kings Fall but want to make sure I'll be able/won't drag a group down. Edit: Thanks for the help so far, sounds like a high-impact scout/sniper is gonna be helpful. Something like Hung Jury/1000 Yard Stare I'm guessing (first couple that come to mind that aren't a drop)

  • Important things are a sniper and being light level 290+ if you want to carry your own weight

  • For normal mode a sniper of some sort is useful as well as good listening skills and the ability to understand direction. Watching vids as you mentioned is also useful

  • 357 light (inside joke with a buddy of mine XD ) 9 black spindles 9 touch of malice A blue eyes white dragon 14 dark magicians Wait what did you ask?... Naa but really you can find groups looking for 310 light (normal) or 320 light (hard) and for hard you NEED touch of malice as most won't let you join, black spindle is a plus to or get use to being bomb b***h on 2nd boss

    • You can have the best guns in the game, but ultimately fail. You could have an amazing K/D in PVP or PVE, but ultimately still fail. There are two things that will benefit you in a raid: 1.) KNOWLEDGE! This is first for multiple reasons. Have you ever heard the phrase, 'knowledge is power'? That's because it is. When I first did the King's Fall Raid, I watched a few walkthroughs and knew the callouts to help the team the best I could (I like to learn in the fight, but not everyone agrees with that view). If you have questions on a certain part, don't hesitate to ask them! It's better to be the most informed before starting a sequence. This leads into my second item for discussion. 2.) COMMUNICATION! I've raided with a few people that never talked, but could hear what everyone was calling out. Although not quite a requirement for me (as long as you have the know-how to get the raid done), others will want you to be 'on the same page' and want to hear it. If something goes wrong, communication is key to alleviate the current issue. Say someone on the plates is killed during the Oryx encounter. One of the titans will have to communicate and take the plate holder's position. Maybe the aura doesn't pass on the totems area. Someone will have to quickly grab a new aura and stand down on the plate. That's all communication to one another; however if you have no idea what your doing, your communication is going to be lacking, and mistakes will be made that end in a wipe. Realistically, you can use any guns you wish. I've seen anything and everything in my fair share of raids. Yes, the best thing to have would be a high impact sniper for most of the sequences, but that allows your primary to be a little more lenient on decision. I wouldn't recommend hand cannons, but its your preference. Something with a higher magazine is usually the best choice, but if you can hold your own, I won't complain how the mission gets completed. Also, a good heavy machine gun helps a lot more than the other heavies (DPS purposes).
If you read this, thanks! I appreciate you taking the time to read through my ramblings and hope it helped your raiding experience. Good luck out there guardian!
These are the requirements and should be the only requirements... Normal 290+ and a fully developed raid subclass. Hard 310+ and a fully developed subclass I always suggest to people in my groups to use high impact snipers and solar machine guns but they are not absolutely necessary.

        • Everybody is talking about all these perks that people need to have on there guns and all this crap when really it boils down 2 only three things. One a decent sniper. Two know what to do. Three do it.

High impact sniper, high impact machine gun (low impact will do), decent primary (I recommend scouts, pulses, or long range hand cannons due to engagement distance for the majority of this raid). A willingness to learn and at least meet the minimum light requirement. Edit. Bare boned minimum I would require is min light, high impact sniper, mic, willingness to learn without rage.

        • A good sniper rifle, triple tap and a reload perk. The Black Spindle is best but not necessary. And when i say reload perk i dont mean outlaw. all other gear is up to personal preference which my change from raid to raid.

          • A mic, a scout/ pulse that is adequate for add clear, a Sniper, and a Sword would be my preference for a member. Really though a High Impact sniper and a Mic is all that is needed.

          • I don't care what guns you have or light level as long as your honest. If you don't know the raid then say so. Other than that if your high enough light to get in then lets raid.

-300-305 light for easy raid -315-320 light for hard raid (310 if everyone else else is like 320) -Decent legendary sniper -No swords (they don't really help anywhere except maybe for clearing knights on warpriest) -Touch or spindle helps but not necessary -More than 4 braincells
