Separate Playlist for Guardians after Going Flawless

What I am suggesting here is that characters who have gone flawless that weekend would be placed in a separate playlist from the normal trials playlist. This would only be per character per weekend. You can still do the bounties and the daily gold tier bounty just on a flawless playlist. This would still allow for competition against normally flawless players in the normal trials playlist but also allow for new guardians to experience the lighthouse by allowing for further competition against other guardians who haven't reached the lighthouse that weekend. Thoughts? Opinions? Ideas? Suggestions? Edit1: So I may not have made this clear, but what I am suggesting is that all players will play on the same playlist for trials until that character achieves flawless victory. I am simply stating that once that character goes flawless that weekend and they wish to continue playing that they play in a separate flawless playlist. Edit2: Changed the title to better encompass the idea I'm trying to get across. People don't like long pieces of text.

  • Maybe we should call it carriers matchmaking, or maybe twitchers.

  • The only flaw with this is that flawless is for the top tier pvp players. It's an honored achievement and not something that supposed to be just handed to everyone. It's a cool idea but it totally would defeat the purpose of the challenge of trials

    • plus you have the bad kids who just purposely farm elo by playing a few games and resetting their cards, hence why elo cannot be taken seriously.

        • Doesn't sound like a bad idea, but could cause issues for ppl doing carries after they went flawless.

        • Agreed. I've been saying this for a while. Everyone that days it's end game it's meant to be difficult I hear you. However other ppl going flawless does not affect top tier players. I haven't gone flawless since April. 2 weeks ago our first game was against what I can only describe as 3 pros. 300 flawless between them. My team had 30. 15 or those being me. Match ups are just too imbalanced. Deny it all you want but you know it's true

        • It took me mulitple months to go 9/0. Doing this would ruin the integrity of trials. Practice with a team and with some hard work and dedication you can win. Especially now with all the top players gone.

        • Just play at like 3 in the morning. Who streams that early? Most of the time you're matched up with people in the same country as you. Problem fixed?

          • This would ruin matchmaking. How about we remove boons and make it so 2 or 3 consecutive wins will forgive a loss. Keep everything else the same. This would make an 8-1 card still viable while still having to beat the best to go flawless.

          • nice thought but it may tarnish going Flawless for those who achieve it with competition "missing" ot in the case of these forums when Trials had been "nerfed". As it stands we all know what going Flawless means. Shame to diminish that even unintentionally. It will never be my problem as 97% of Crucible players would need to be missing for me to get anywhere near the Lighthouse :)

          • I've toyed with this idea also, but like so many have already stated, trials is meant to be for the best crucible players. Sadly I'm not in that group and likely never will be. But if you made the changes the op suggested, you'd end up with a participation trophy mindset which is what all the kids today expect. It's better to teach everyone that it's ok to lose and accept defeat and try again, then to further advance this mindset that if you show up you're a winner.

            1. You've got to beat the better teams to be the best. No participation trophies 2. It is already difficult for matchmaking to find matches. This would severely cripple matchmaking. 3. Finally, a lot of players, like myself, play this game mode simply for fun. So punishing us for going flawless and not having anyone else to play with the rest of the weekend is quite unfair

I like ur idea but they need to do away with boons for it to actually work. It just seems to me like bungie bends over backwards for streamers so I don't think they'll even make an attempt to fix trials matchmaking

              • Honestly with flawless Playlists I think you'll keep running into the problem of a divided player base. Most I can think of is matching based upon total number of wins on passage card (current system) + total times an account has gone flawless. It would have to be a range of flawless victories, like 0-5 flawless victories, 6-10, 11-15, and so in. This would still divided the player base but to a much lesser extent, this would also match skill based upon number of times you've gone flawless. But ultimately this is a difficult end game activity, it is meant to be hard. Honestly the only thing that could be done to improve game play is to have weapon loadouts at the beginning. You have a choice between an auto rifle or a hand cannon this game (loadouts change each game) and it's the same for both sides. Special weapons drop in after 2 minutes and only one player can use it. Same with heavy weapons. This would standardize the match making this "competitive" game type more about inherent skill with a weapon type instead of a specific legendary or exotic weapon.

              • No they should just put me against 9 teams I'm better than(if possible lol) every week so I can continually go to the light house without earning it.

                • My concern with that is you would be really limiting the pool of players who have already gone flawless to matchmake with. The time it takes to get a game and the quality of connections make it to much of an issue imo

                • Wouldn't this make all the people who carry others fight each other. I can see this. Would give average players who don't play 24/7 a chance to win. I think this would only affect people get paid to carry, and give average players a chance to win. Just my opinion 🤔😀

                  • I like your idea but there's a problem. All the elites would just wipe before going flawless. This would keep them in the non-flawless group. Also, most people would wait until Monday when most of the try hards are already filtered out. This will bring down the number of matches played, which is bad for Bungie. Which tier would you place a team who has someone that made it, that is playing with someone who hasn't made it?

                    • So basically have an easy mode? By the time you got to Monday night only the scrubs would be left. Not going to happen. Trials is supposed to be really hard and that ain't gonna change anytime soon. I've never been flawless because I'm not prepared to put the practise in. I accept that and move on. Everyone else should too. If the completion rate for trials was really low, and I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's not, then Bungie would do something.
